I really do feel for her and wonder what the future holds for her.  She can't seem to put 4 rounds together, and then BAM, throws up some ugly scores!

"Poor" Michelle Wie? I can't say I root for her to fail but i admit to not finding the same amount of tragedy that you do in her inability to shoot scores that might win a club championship. There is nothing about her that is sympathetic. She has been availed every possible opportunity to succeed at the game since she was 10 years old. She is merely one in a long line of players, men and women alike, who never could match the hype. I don't doubt she works hard, i don't doubt she has talent. But none of that is a guarantee of success. I am no fan of what her parents have done to her. I think they have been a huge impediment to her success. But she is a big girl now, she has to own her game. And she often acts entitled and spoiled. She needs to either go out there and earn it, or do something else.

It seems like she does well in one round or two, shooting a 66 or something like that but then to shoot an 81!  I gotta believe it is almost all mental unless she is dealing with an injury.  I want to see the highlights, or in her case, low lights on the GC this evening.

Poor putters put up poor scores. Just that simple. Putt poorly long enough, as she has, and it permeates into the rest of your game.

I personally think we've seen the best of her. I don't see her putting doing an about-face to the point where she starts to contend for titles. She could shore up her ball-striking to the nth degree....and I don't think it would make any difference. She just cannot putt.

Shame.

Michelles putting woes are well documented but she shouldn't have to be a lights out putter to at least compete. Her length should be a great equalizer out there and it's not because she sprays the ball all over the damn place these days. She has a 2 way miss going quite often. I also think she needs to leave leadbetter, not because I'm like some who think he is Satan in a goofy hat, but because whatever he had to offer her has come and gone. It's time for some changes that need to be made now. Yes, she is very young still, but shes been out there a long time. It's time for a new voice. Has there ever been a more perfect marriage of player and coach than a potential Michelle Wie Butch Harmon duo? Butch isn't for everyone but i really think he could get a lot out of her with his "let's work with what you've got" approach.

I think at some point she needs to be able to distance herself from her father and stop having him breathe down her neck every step along the way.

she made her choices by going to school instead of riding the momentum when she was younger.  Education was the most important thing to her and that's her perocative but her golf suffered and her career is over.  She is now a journeywomen at best.  A lot of scar tissue now and IMO too much to come back from.

Can't feel bad with how much money she brings in.

Always wondered why she didn't stick with Stockton.  Her short putts are terrible to watch. Absolutely cringe worthy.  Her stoke is so yippy.

I totally agree. I'm dumb founded that she hasn't visited every putter guru to find something that works. Her putting stroke looks like she's trying to stab the ball with her putter. I hope she can turn it around.

She sprays it all over the lot now with the driver and isn't any longer than she was at 15.  Something about "snapping kinetic chains" fouled her up, IMO.  Couple bad driving with bad putting and that's a really bad combination.

Let's focus on something more important that we have in common.

That Belen, Aza and Beatriz can dominate week in and week out so we get max TV coverage of the 3 Spanish Killer B's. (Beauty, Brains, Bods).

I read BJ had a disagreement with Stockton.

I'm going with Kymar-time for a new voice.  When Faldo was working with Leadbetter, they tinkered endlessly with his swing.  Faldo was a great putter who switched to left hand low due to one of Lead's theories.  Wie is young enough to completely rebuild.

No question.....especially considering a pro like Jesse Korda, who I think is 19. travels on her own.

I don't know...but I think MW might be afraid of BJ to tell him to lay off ala Sean O'Hair...ok.....that was an extreme example.
I think it's easier for a son vs. a daughter to stand up to Dad.

It's ok for the parents to watch their daughter play,,,just stay outside the ropes and let them play.
You see many parents at LPGA events but they watch from a distance and pretty well let their daughter decide what to do.

BJ just doesn't get it....I think Bo is there only for the ride and like a good Asian wife....does what hubby tells her to do.

My I might know...I'm Chinese....but not smart enough to understand the subservient Asian wife early enough....I have a Caucasian wife who doesn't listen and spends too much money....lol...but I really love her...and she plays golf too. :taunt:

How's Meghan Khan doing?
One of my new favs is Lydia Ko...it was truly amazing to see it live...Lydia winning the CWO in front of huge galleries......one of the best events I have attended.

Wow! An 81 as a pro is pretty bad for pro that can easily score..  I think it was Scott Jamieson in Hong Kong the other day that carded an 85!

overly instructed, poorly guided career, massively distracted start, and you do lose that edge through college life that could have easily been bypassed.  Make no mistake, the fact that she has a tour card means she's one of the better players in the world, but when you play on this big of a stage, even a few putts or bad drives per round can completely change the landscape of success... it's that fine of a line.

A serious question with only 1 top ten finish this golf season , Does Michelle have status for the 2013 season ,she last won in 2011 i believe  ,Is that correct and do the wins count as 1 year or 2 of a guaranteed LPGA  card ?

Her career was grossly mismanaged and her inability to manage her game on bad days will make it hard for her to do well.

She can still shoot 6X but over 4 days she will get a bad day she can't recover from and that's really no way to play as a pro.

I was reading that na yeon choi parents was on her back, till she told them to leave her alone for a while.

They did, and she won her first tournament not long after.

Her problems are probably more than just her parents, though.

I agree, great swing. Putter not quite
