Not to hijack but has anyone seen one of these refinished in matte black? Mine has a few skymarks so I was thinking about refinishing it. Leave the gray line or no?

I like the matte black. When ever I have a club old enough that I can't replace with a new line of club I prob will repaint matte black. Problem is my club never gets that old and scuffed up. Lol. There is someone who repainted the sq2 driver floating around here. It looks just like the machspeed line.

I avg about 220 with 4 wood.  With Nike, it was one of the shorter 4 woods.  Super easy to hit but short.  (avg about 205 to 210)

That's a good list. I will def compare the sq2 to my cb5. If the sq2 performs consistently I will have a decision to make. Sometimes consistency will over take the distance. I guess it will all depend how much distance.

I'm thinking of going from my sq2 3 wood with stock stiff shaft to a RBZ 3 wood.  I'm leaning towards the tour version because I'll want to hit it off the deck sometimes.  I'll also probably stick with the stock RBZ shaft due to budget.  Not sure how the xcon7 or xcon5 will compare to the stock shaft in the sq2.  I know the xcon5 is probably a lot lighter than what I have now, but that's all I know.  Anyone else make a similar switch?  Thanks!

Btw, love the sq2!  Best fairway I've played to date and lasted me a long time, but who can resist...

Was it with the stock shaft?  The stock "diamana" shaft that came with these was useless unless you had a very even tempo or lower swing speed.  They produced a lot of spin and would kill your distance if you didn't have a 10 mph tail wind.  That said, I did notice that it was not one of the longer FW's that I have hit even with lots of different aftermarket shafts, I have had the SQ2 in 13, 17, and 19 degree.  I would put the distance on par with any Taylormade, Ping, or callaway FW that I have had/owned other than the RBZ.  If you are comparing it to a Tour Edge or any other FW pushing the COR limit, it is going to lose distance wise.

Just making sure, haha.  Of the six SQ2's I have/had I hit some balls with the stock shaft still in and it really didn't work out.  Interesting that you still lost that much distance even with the Platinum in it.  Do you know what the main contributing factor was, too much/too little spin, too high/low launch?  Or did you just feel like it wasn't as hot off the face?  I'd be interested in hearing what you think for some insight into my own experiments with this club.

I did not hit them side by side on a launch monitor so, I could not comment on the spin rate.   I actually like the feel and trajectory but it just seem to run out of gas in midflight.  It isn’t hot off the face as some of the other FW.

Falling out of the fly might mean too much spin with ball balooning. Spin could of been the issue. I don't exactly know how old the sq2 are but I am sure it doesn't make too much of distance difference. Of course comparing sq2 to one of the newer line of TEE, this might be different. Idk. Way I see it if it fits your yardage gap just play it.

Just received my new fairway shaft. I went with AXE Xcaliber. Off to golfsmith. Get this installed and play it over the weekend. I hope.

My 13* SQII is the only club in my bag that hasn't been replaced in the last two years. I don't even look at the new 3 woods coming out any more. It gives me the trajectory i want both off the tee and off the deck and is easy to hit.

One of my favorite combos.  Wasnt super long, was about par with most 3 woods I've played, but it was just a great overall performer.  I wish some new ones would pop up on ebay, I'd buy a whole bunch if I could.

Here is a link to my Sumo 5000 driver.  Since the photos were taken, I have cut it down to 44.5 inches and the control with the Fubuki shaft is unreal.  Nothing will knock this out of the bag soon.  It is interesting to see so many guys tied to the SQII line still.  I have two of the hybrids (not getting knocked out either) but never had a chance of hitting the fairway woods.  Enjoy...

I just bought a 8.5 5000 on eBay to replace my k15 which I hit too high.  I had the same problem with my 5000 before but it was a 10.5 but it was a fairway finding driver.  I'm really hoping this will resolve my flight issue, paired with the prolite 3.5.

I also have the 17 and 21 SQ2 FWY's both of which are great.

No I meant golfSmith. There's a guy I know who does good work. Golf works is where I ordered the shaft. My guy is still out on vacation so didn't get the shaft installed yet. Till next week.

Got my SQ2 reshafted today. The club builder at Golfsmith went on vacation and had to go to a different club builder. Big mistake. Grips and shaft hasn't been aligned what so ever. I should of frikin waited. FML! JK. Was looking forward to play them this weekend. Hopefully they can get it right.

Absolutely love mine. Got  3, 5, and 7 with matching diamana redboard 83 gram stiff. Easiest fairway to hit. Not going anywhere. Tries vr limited. Went back to sp2.

Okay guys I am sure this is old news but after I had my shaft installed by some idiot golfsmith employee work on my clubs, I so furious of the crap job they had done. After several trips and complaints to the store manager it finally was done to my liking.

However, while working on the club, these idiots had mismanaged my club and had left many scratches on the crown. I knew I had to polish them when I got home. On my way home I stop at an auto part store and picked up scratch removing kit. Once I got home I buffed and polished the crown. Within 5 min, bam. It was good as new. It look better then when I bought the club. It looked so good I polished my hybrid and other woods I had in my back up bag. I just wanted to share the product info to you guys. I know I am not the only ocd about stuff being mishandled by others.
