Lag pressure is still a very viable concept for many teachers and players...

No wonder I see so many threads and get so many emails from people with the shanks and snap hooks...LOL.

i do not appreciate it when you refer to my emails in public .And please s do not post that video that i recently sent you that looked like a flip that would duck hook the ball but really ended up as a hosel rocket.

If you played for the hosel rocket, I don't see a problem...

i always suggest that golfer develop  a one way miss.A two way miss is very frustrating. If i play for the snap hook and aim into the right woods ,i might end up backswards to the right if i hit my hosel rocket. If i aim into the left woods  for my hosel rocket and hit my snap hook,i might end backwards to the left.I guess with either shot I do not have to worry about losing it in the wind

Yes, but which one do YOU play for?  Or does it depend on whether there are appropriate tree trunks on which you can play a bank?  PM me and I can help you decide which one to play...and how to play it on command.  Video of each would be very helpful.

I don't remember if it was the original or the revised X-Factor, but when I read about it in GD years ago I recall Jim not saying to consciously restrict hip turn, but simply sharing an observation that the longest hitters almost universally have the greatest differential between hip turn and shoulder turn. The lesson being, get coil between hips and shoulders.

I never got the impression that he suggested I should not turn my hips to artificially create that coil with the same given amount of shoulder turn. IIRC, that would just mean he perhaps did not do as good of a job communicating the observation as he could have. Of course, I could also be misremembering.

And in fairness to Jim, there is a lot of garbage out there. Most of the known instructors who are active on here have been vetted through a very robust process of anonymous ripping. Nonetheless, the vast majority of youtube swing analyses that I've seen are wastes of time.

If you post a video, we can help you choose which side has the best trees to plan the bank shot.

Entertaining read, thanks for posting it. On a side note Jim mentions Carl Welty at the end. If you ever want a great lesson look him up because IMO he is brilliant!

I started this blog about a month ago. When I read Jims blog last week I was disappointed with his direction. I took it as a shot directed towards quite a few teachers on GOLFWrx in particular as well as YouTube.

I look at golf as GROWING THE PIE. His blog was perceived by most as the pie is only so big and he is at a loss market share wise.

In the end you may not agree with what everyone teaches, but we must respect the fact that most if not all teachers have the intention to do well.

Ill say it also that most teachers on Golfwrx STUDY a lot about the swing and the aspects of playing the game. That takes passion and a desire to help people, plus there are too many to name just off hand.

But as a teacher you are given respect not only by myself but many others that read golf forums.

Keep up the good work.

Great stuff Dana. IMHO, Homer had it right. No right, wrong, or best, only what works for each player.

JM really ticked me off with his little diatribe. There are a lot of good people doing a lot of good things on the internet. To just dump on everyone like he did is unprofessional and petty.

Funny, that a well known coach should say that. It is exactly the same issue with most teachers. They seem to be very detailed and aware of the swing mechanics and the game, but still talk and show serious bs.

I have not had many teachers in my life in golf. However 3/4 have been on the other side of the moon, when it komes to hitting the ball hard and straight.

Maybe the internet has brought those less knowledged into day- and nite-light.

This is laughable considering how much crap he puts out in magazines.  What is the difference between golf digest and a web site?
