This year, I shot my worst round  (109) with a ProV1, and my best round (79) with an old (tho unused) Wilson Jack with a Cleveland Browns logo (I have the misfortune of being a longtime Browns fan).  I have found my ultimate ball.  Does anyone know where I might purchase more of these beauties?

Don't believe the Jack is current. Might want to check with Wilson in Chicago for suggestions. If I remember correctly, the Jack was a two-piece ball, surlyn cover.

The current Wilson balls are excellent. Try the Duo, the 50 Extreme, & others - you really can't go wrong with any of them.

wasn't there a controversy with the wilson jack? i could be completely wrong, but i seem to remember that it was found to be non-conforming or something like that when it first came out...

I shot an 84 today (good for me) with the same ball, but finally lost it in the drink.  I'm convinced it's not the type of ball, but the Cleveland Browns logo.  So I'll be ordering some type of Wilson ball with the orange helmet.

The Wilson Jack is what I was using when I broke 100 for the first time. They're like the E6, only longer. You can still find them on ebay fairly often (though they often sell for $25-$30 a dozen shipped).

Another distance ball I scored well with is the HX Hot (first time I broke 90). They're cheap and readily found.

If I recall correctly, Jack Nicklaus took issue with Wilson using the "Jack" name.  I have never used one, but my buddy swears they are the longest ball he's ever used.

I'm glad you found a ball that fits your game. I don't know if I'd call a 2-piece surlyn ball from several years ago "ultimate" however. Lots of progress has been made over recent years.

Did Wilson low-end (as opposed to W S) once carry an Ultimate ball? That would make this a bit ironic. The ultimate ball was not the Ultimate.

Wow, a Wilson Jack logo ball was not what I expected to read out after opening this thread.

Congrats OP on finding the magic recipe.  Whatever works!!!

The Browns logo balls perform far better than normal Jacks to prevent Browns fans from committing suicide.

Don't get the Steelers, Packers, or Patriots balls.

Looking at the eBay deals on the Jack ball, I learned they also had LONG and SPIN versions.

I forgot that Jack | Black Jack was the main cheap Wilson ball of its time. Until this thread, I didn't think jack about it.

The other posters are correct: for the same money as what they cost on eBay, a Wilson DUO or even Bob Sponge Square Pants (which I think was initially same time as Jack and might be close in construction) would be worth considering.

They went to Black Jack to cool that threat.
