First annual, "Last Man Bandon" tour with the buddies.  This will be my 4th trip in 12 months as I'm lucky enough to live in Portland, but we have 4 newbies coming which will be great.  Hope the weather holds.  If you haven't been to Bandon Dunes yet, you are doing yourself a life disservice.  Getting there really isn't that difficult when you fly into PDX.

Some pics from these last few trips:

Resort looks amazing!  How long/how many rounds are you getting in?

I have 11 days before my mini trip.  Have only played Bandon and Pacific after they opened.  Leaving PDX area early Friday for noon'ish Pacific tee time and then trying to squeeze in Old Mac and Bandon the next day before returning.  Cost of lodge and 3 rounds is less than 1 round during the summer.  It will be windy and probably a little rain.  Temps on the coast are typically not too bad so layers are the key.

We have all the rain and foul weather gear so should be a blast.

Hope you have a great time.  It's an amazing place!

The reduced rates start this coming Monday so we're hitting the road at 6am on Sunday morning and playing a pretty well regarded course, Bandon Crossings, which is unaffiliated with Bandon Dunes.  Tee time is 12:30. Then Monday morning it's Old Macdonald with Pacific Dunes for the second 18. Tuesday is Bandon Dunes followed by the Preserve.  Won't be ready to come home but duty calls back in Portland.

I played bandon crossings earlier this year and really enjoyed it. It's no bandon dunes course but still very nice. It's less exposed so the wind isn't as bad. It's well worth playing and only a fraction of the cost. Have fun and now I only have 5 days.

Did you play on Monday in the storm?

2putt - Thanks!

KSI - Yes, we played Monday.  Insane.  I'd never been in weather like that let alone played golf in it. Grounds keeper said he'd never seen it like that before.  My 5th trip to Bandon and by far the worst for me.  Just sent some video to youtube, see link.  Note my buddy's bag rolling about 80 yards down the green/fairway.

LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the post. Genuinely LOL'ing over that. Your mate in the balaclava doing the big lean is awesome.
Fortunately 13 wasn't like that for me. On 14 did you aim at the beach and have the wind bring it back?
Insane is definitely the word for it.

Ha, yeah tried to knock a cute 3 hybrid at the bunker.  I got away with my life and a bogey.  #15 was just silly.  Could hardly walk.

I think I've commented on your well-written Bandon review before.  This is the first time I've looked at your slideshow.

Wow.

You do good work.  This is going out to my trip-mates tonight.
