I'm sure it's been done before, and moderator can delete if its has, but how would you set up a bag for a $1000, that u would play tomorrow?....assuming most gear would be used, try to be realistic with prices....just curious as to see what would be most people's "must-haves" and what they could use to get by....BST, eBay, Craigslist etc as a reference for prices

It's been done plenty and $1000 would be way too easy. Do a search and check out the under $300, $400, $500 ones. You don't have to spend that much to get the ball in the hole with very good used equipment.

my current bag is actually pretty close. The only thing holding me back is that i dropped 299$ on a putter

Nike Dymo= 74$ off dallas golf
Cleveland Launcher FL= 95$ at golftown
Ping G15 Hybrid= 149 @ golftown

I also have a IWI Craze i bought for 75$. So i could swap putters and play a bag that was 1075$ Canadian. So it basically works. And that's my real bag

The trick is to be able to purchase used equipment that has the same specs you'd need.  Anyone can find hundreds of excellent (dare I say mint) condition pre-owned gear at a mere $0.10 on the dollar but in "standard" length and lie angle.  So if you're not a standard fit, you'd really have to be realistic and have to consider about half the cost (about $500 or so) going to reshafting and refitting most sets including drivers, fairway metals, hybrids, wedges, etc. Now you're standard length and lie and use a stiff flex, you could get nice stuff for dirt cheap and then afford a Bennington bag and Bettinardi prototype tour issue putter.

No need to apologize, just stating that $1000 is really a high number and it doesn't take that much cash to put together a really good quality bag of sticks. It all depends on what you are really wanting- condition/specs/shafts and of course patience.

$302 for an all titleist bag is great! Clubs all have nv graphite and s300 steel. Grips are good to go. I gave him an old hoofer i had since 2008 which i got at a pawnshop to sell the clubs.
