I have the great fortune of living in the Phoenix area, the home to a TON of golf businesses and more courses than I could play in a lifetime.
One of my favorite companies has been PURE Grips, for the past couple of years.  I work Saturdays at Arizona GolfWorks in Tempe and we do a TON of regripping and repair on all levels of clubs.  PURE Grips have been far and away our best selling grip and also the easiest to install, compressed air and the installation nozzle is all it takes.
For about the last year and a half, I have been bugging our rep, Jason to get a putter grip that I could get behind as strongly as I do their club grips.  Two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to hold one of their nearly finished prototypes and even install it on a putter to check how that part was going to play out.
It is similar in basic shape to the PING man, Iomic or Premio, but the feel is very comfortable.  I have decent sized hands and the PING man has always been just a shade small.  Iomics have been the big seller, but I have always strived to sell as much local business and I can.  PURE Grips is a Mesa, AZ based business and local is what MannKrafted is all about.
Here are some pictures of the grips I was able to install on a few putters.
If you get a chance to try out this new grip, don't pass it up.  They will be the standard grip on all putters to be shipped from my shop, as soon as they are available for purchase.  From what I hear, it could be as little as a week away.
Thanks,
LaMont in AZ

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I was really excited when I contacted Pure a few weeks back and they said that they were getting ready to launch a new putter grip line. From what I was told, they are only looking at a standard grip right now. Do you know if they will introduce black and white as options? Very excited about this company being manufactured here in the states - becoming harder and harder to come by. Thanks.

Are these grips rubber, elastomer like Iomics, or something different?

Or am I asking what's in the secret sause?!

It is my understanding that the new putter grips are 100% rubber, like their club grips.  From what I can gather, the colors available will be the same as their standard grips, but I can't say with all certainty, as I was given the opportunity to try out the red, pink, purple and blue and saw the green one long enough to snap these pictures.
The open end is a little thicker that you may be used to seeing, but when I installed mine, it felt great, right from the start.  I will contact the gentleman who bought one of the putters that I put the others on and see what he has to say about the grip.
I might even get to sneak in some golf, this weekend and let you know if I am still as high on the new grip, post-round, LOL.  But, with my infrequent play, the grip is honestly the least of my worries, :cheesy: .
Have a great Friday morning, all!

They are really nice grips. I had previously only used a pingman on my putter, but I love the Pure.putter.jpg

+1

Will it be similar to their other grips?  Which by the way are priced "better than most".......sorry, had to do it!

Last word I got was an early December target date.  When I know, you will all know.  It has been a long time in the making, so I am sure that the line for these rascals is plenty long.
Keep an eye on the putter section here and I am sure someone will beat me to the punch, LOL.

All those are missing is the little Kool-Aid man face. Now that would be sick.

I don't know of too many players that prefer a "standard" size grip.  Will those be offered in midsize, large, and jumbo?

Any chance they could be talked into doing a lot of underlistings?

Lamont, is the logo embossed?  Iomic have had some issues with players not wanting their thumb feeling the recesses of the embossed logo.  Premio don't have this issue.  Just wondering, thanks for posting.

The logo's on the Bettinardi grips I posted a picture of are recessed.

Lamont hope you dont mind me answering the question for you.

Jimmy,
Not a problem, at all.  I have very limited access to the internet during the day and I glad that you were able to answer that question for the Doctor.
I have one of the grips on my gamer and do not even notice the engravings, personally.  But, putters are the most personal club in the bag and if a guy has issues with that small of a detail, I won't argue.
As for the "standard size" not being preferred by too many players...........I have to say that my experience has shown different info than yours.  Doing refinishes for the better part of the past 15 years and building putters for several companies in the past four, "standard" size has been far and away the most preferred model, in any brand.
I am not sure that they will have a mid- or over-size model, right away, but I do agree there is a trend for the number of customers who request that to increase, so I would think that it may be in development with PURE, or not far away.
BTW, I am NOT a representative of PURE Grips, nor do I have any stake in their success or such.  They are a local company to me and I have been very excited to get a chance to give their putter grip a try-out.  If you have direct questions for them, track them down via their site and fire off an email.  If I hear anything about new sizes or possibilitiy of such, I will post back here.
I apologize if I gave the impression that my relationship was anything other than as a customer.
Have a great weekend,
LaMont in AZ
