Naaa...Rory still has a man crush on Tiger...still looks at him as a God figure...they have a relationship that goes beyond equipment. Tiger has been VERY influential . I wonder what Rory would have done with a 250m con with ZEVO (if Tiger was going there). Can't blame the countryman (who has no identity) for takin the Nike spiff

Point is this: pro golfers are in general, *****s. In order to play this game at a high level, for a living, you really have to be a self-centered egomaniac. Whether that manifests itself on or off the course is where people seem to try and draw lines and say, "this guys has no respect," or "who does he think he is."
I don't think it's said aloud enough but IMO, golf's historic attachment to white privilege and that institution's outspoken RACE-ISM (which is shared by a many on GolfWRX and every other social media outlet) is a major issue in society and especially within the culture of golf. I think it needs to be talked about before the sport really looses out on it's future audience-- a more ethnically diverse youth.
His cheating incident was publicized on a more pointedly racial level in the golf media because it allowed the the royal and loyal to kick-a** against Tiger with less fear of pulling a Fuzzy Z. It's unfortunate that his situation over the last several years (along with our first black President and the rise of social media) has made racist sentiment a kind of resurgent reality. It makes me sick in fact. The only thing I know, I love watching Rory and Tiger play golf and I don't pretend to know anything about them or their TRUE character because of what the media wants to show me. If Tiger is somehow "changing" Rory, I think it's only in the best of ways: making Rory a more enlightened businessman and celebrity, a show of real sportsmanship in a game that hasn't shown enough of it, and a game that's more diverse, more accessible to new golfers.

Brilliant. Your parting line is "NONE of us know", yet it's "well known in Europe" how much of a prat Rory is. I missed this memo. I wish I was so awesome to have the inside scoop, though.
