Lots of interesting theories none of which may be true.  Of course we will never know.

My theory is that TW and RM had actually seen the questions beforehand, and that RMs off camera initial response might have highly libellous, and distinctly insulting, about Faldo, and might even have included a few expletives.  That, for me, would explain Tiger's fit of the giggles, and makes Rory's self control even more admirable.  Pure speculation on my part obviously.

haha I think Faldo pays reporters to ask random nick faldo questions just to see how players react.  Nick is crafty and wants ammo for his on air commentary.

If that is true, then it means he plays it way out in front, and is better than both of these knuckleheads.

Maybe Nick was a dick when he played on tour and rubbed people the wrong way... who knows! I do know that was a great clip and thanks for posting it.

Are we still on this?  I was sure this thread would have died yesterday!  :D  But it is one of the shortest "Tiger/Rory" threads to date...

Why isn't Faldo entitled to his opinion? The question was asked and he answered it. Period. If RM wants to take offense at Faldo's opinion......meh.
I don't think either RM or TW did themselves any favors by snickering like a couple of 9th-graders brought to the principal's for having their water pistols taken away.
Faldo did it HIS way and it worked for HIM.The results speak for themselves. When RM wins six majors then he can snicker. Until then, shut up and go play.

Thought it was interesting that the first thing Tiger mentioned was his own mentoring by Mark O'Meara. Maybe sees himself in a similar role for Rory?

I'm confused as to why Faldo's commentary seems to be so disliked, he's a 6 time major champion that now gives his opinion about what he sees. It's his job. I guess some people want golf commentary to be all rainbows and butterflies?

I'm also confused as to why this is on 3 pages and expanding

Dare I say, "Everyone's entitled to their opinion", or to have a little snicker once in a while at someone else's expense.  I'll bet the whole interview was rehearsed and all three said their lines and expressed well what was planned.

There are lots of players that do not like each other, But I suspect
Faldo will have the last laugh, and he will have a greater audience
that will hear his commentary. The Faldo of old was not a nice fellow !!!

Still, I find it very odd that such a respectful and seemingly "gets it" lad such as Rory would laugh and mock a knighted 6 time major winner.

Maybe money is changing him....Maybe Tiger is changing him....Maybe this is the "real" Rory and we've  all been buffaloed...

Oh god, someone throw some water over the troll. Nick Faldo is *far* from a popular guy, in case you hadn't already noticed. But yeah, the fact that they laughed over something like that (oh, the humanity) = OMG HE'S CHANGED, NIKE HAVE RUINED HIMMMM

Utter facepalm.

Nice to know I'm still boring you to tears, eh?

I was wondering if you were sick or something.  It hasn't been the same around here without you hanging on every one of my posts...Welcome back!

But, the question remains...do you think 2011 Rory, in a sit down interview with no Tiger present, would have laughed at the mention of Sir Nick Faldo?  I don't.  We'll never know though...

Rory did not laugh at Nick, he chuckled and humored Tiger.

Tigers response/reaction was strange and disrepectful to Faldo. Maybe he thinks Faldo is a DB but he should not laugh at him in the way he did.

Rorys was a bit dismissive to Faldo but blunt and honest.

Id say Rory is writing some big checks that he better be able to cash

Tiger is an estblished King of the game and can say whatever he wants

Rory better be sure he he is ready to win 3+ times every year from now on...

Tiger's already been where Rory wants to go...he's also already been where Faldo couldn't go...Time will tell, but I think Rory has plenty of cash to write both virtual and real checks...

Not a response but good for him for taking the high road.

He can make his case against Tiger beating Jack. And he offers his personal experience of getting older and those "demons" making you think a little too much to beat the youngsters who can still say "what the *&*$" and rip it.

All in all a good thing for Tiger to have

A goal

Make Faldo eat his words.

But 4 more much less 5 is not *bloody* likely.

Maybe 2 more.

Meantime, Faldo is a big boy, he can take being Goofed on by the

I think mainly because the title gives the impression that Tiger and Rory together were making fun of Faldo, and a lot of people apparently seem to like this

After watching the clip. all I can say is a lot of posters see what they want to see
Tiger burst out laughing and Rory reacted to that, and then continued to say that it work for Faldo but it would not work for him Rory took advise off Faldo as a kid, He also was the touring pro for the Faldo designed Lough Erne up until 2 years ago and in case anyone thinks I am defending Faldo I think he is a plonker
Now Tiger laughed, The same Tiger who always played practice rounds on his own, always talked about himself in interviews only, After rounds he usualy gave not one liners more like 2 words to every question   Harrington said not more than 2 years ago That nobody knew Woods, he never socialised with anyone on tour, Faldo said he kept himself alof from everyone else, I would say Woods kept himself even more alof, Tiger it seems is trying to re invent himself

If you watch it, it is more of a little chuckle and smile than busting out laughing. Funny how Rory refers to him as "Faldo" and not Nick. Seems like these two know what most people do, and that is that Faldo was a great player but is a bit of a dick.

So can we all agree that the thread title is unnecessarily leading us in the wrong direction, then?

If "a lot of posters see what they want to see", then isn't the OP as well?  Are they laughing at Faldo or not?

Just go away.  who is more foolish?  The troll or the troll who hangs on every one of his posts?

Seems to me that OP wants us to go in this direction.  This is where the discussion is supposed to go.  Take it up with him for the misleading thread title, this whole thing was a trolling mission.

Boring.you.to.tears and renting up space inside your head, old fart.  But after all of this bantering, you have proven to me that the answer is indeed NO just like I've been saying all along.
