Just had a look at the pics of the new adidas range for 2013, and it looks to me like they're taking their cue from Puma for a good bit of their line, and not just the Fashion Performance line either.

All pics can be found here, but you'll see what I mean from the following shots:

Not that there's much wrong with the stuff, but blatantly obvious where their inspiration has come from.

Interesting. Definitely seems to be a Puma Golf influence there... maybe things are coming full circle for the Dassler's legacy :)

(Just for clarification, both companies were founded by german brothers in the 1940's: Adidas, by Adolph Dassler, and Puma by Rudolf Dassler... they reportedly despised each other, and became mortal enemies.)

I like Puma and Adidas, but have little interest in those types of shirts.  I like shirts of all colors and brightness, but I prefer them to be primarily 1 color / solids.

I can't stand the yarn died prints. They just look so cheap. Screen printing even looks better in my opinion. Why can't companies spend the extra money to do cut and sew patterns. They look the best.

I made the same comment to our rep when I looked at the line.

It seems like all of the apparel companies are getting loud and crazy these days.  It does not look but, just different...

It's not bad.  But I'll stick to UA and Ashworth.

It's not just the three stripes.  Quite a bit of Nike's stuff looks like this, too.

Never forget that the luxury of being
wrong is not enough to make you right.

They are not all like that or all outlandish. They have some really nice shirts.

I liked their three stripe on the back near the center but then they moved them to the arm and they looked really stupid.
I do like their fit generally, a tad tapered with long lengths for easy tucking. The climacool feels great but the climalite is a fabric attractant as they can get linty very easily.

I like ashworth and polo.
yeah

Loud and colorful are in now so other companies are going follow too.  I remember when JL first came on the scene and people thought how loud and obnoxious they were.  I personally love the loud and bold colors!

Not a fan of those styles, but as long as they continue to offer more subtle styles, I have no problem w/ them offering the more jazzy stuff for the youngins and those who don't mind going bold:)

It seems that Adidas is positioning their main line for the younger golfer while keeping their Ashworth line more traditional for us middle aged folks.  Probably a very smart strategy.

Now, get rid of the "Rocket_ _ _Z" name!

I like 'em. Wouldn't wear 'em (too old sort of) so I stick with solid colors or stripes but I still like bright colors to go with my black pants.

Its not always quantity that matters its quality. Puma has that. As we all know.

I'm with you on the cut and sew patterns. JL and TM do this which is why they get most of my business, but I see a lot of comments on here about how expensive they are. Can't please everyone. Thankfully there are a lot of options out there these days.
