I played the Callaway Hex Blacks all year and liked their punch off the driver, their capability to cut through the wind, and the softer feel (than ProV1) off the putter. I prefer to stick to one ball all year as to minimize any changes/differences between models and have full expectations/knowledge of how they're going to perform for distances/spin.
I did win a couple dozen new ProV1s this year and liked them, but they had a harsh feel off the putter and were generally 5-10 yds shorter for me off driver/3W than the HBs, in addition to scratching up rather easy with slightly aggressive wedge play. I played them in casual rounds/scrambles/practice and almost used them all up within a couple weeks due to scuffing/scratches. The HBs don't scuff as easily.

Agree I did have a stint with the Hex Blacks and they were soft as can be on the putter face. I tear up ProV1's pretty good with wedges and irons. The Hex Blacks were a great replacement for them and felt great when you caught one on the screws. Hex Blacks need to be played by more people if they fit their style of game.
Took me a while to figure this out, but never found it on any forum. So I'll bury it here.
The seam is a zig-zag due to the 'dimple' design, but it's there. The logo is always in the same spot on every ball. The seam is about 3-4 dimples above the logo. It's hard to find due to their construction, but every ball logo/number is marked in exactly the same position.
I mark the seam with 4 dots above the logo on one of the 'points' of the hex. That's my mark, and helps me line up my shots.

Very good insight. I might have to check this out
