So I bought this on ebay..

http://www.ebay.com/...cvip=true&rt=nc

Next, what to do with it? I've had several ideas, but I want some input. I dont have much money to throw into it. Since its made of Aluminum I thought I could maybe take the paint off and polish it. Then paint the ring Matte black and do matte black paint fill. Any thoughts on that?

Let me know if you have done something similar to this in the past. I bought it on a whim, so did i get a decent deal? I see new they are going for about $85-$100... Thanks!

I think that's a great buy! For the finish you could remove the paint and it would look pretty nice IMO

So there is paint there, its not just an anodized finish? I think that I was kind of leaning that way. Go for the bare metal look and do some cool pain fill.

Thanks!

Any other ideas, folks?

I remember a thread about a year or two ago where someone sent their Phantom in and had it "ghosted" and it looked really nice. I'm not a fan of the white putter at all, but this one was legit. Just a thought :good:

If I remember there isn't any paint left, I'd get another opinion too. you can always send it to the custom shop and they'll make it look great

It would be cool to send it out and have it ghosted by the custom shop, but I dont know if I'm into paying $140+ for that to happen... whats the value of something that comes out of the custom shop like that?

So, according the scotty website, California prohibits the restoration of aluminum putters. WTF?

Aluminum dust may hinder death from smog!

Send it to LaMont. He is too far gone for aluminum dust to hurt!..........and he does good work!

He did one for me a few years back called the "Skittles Putter". When we have our golf trips the high putt count for the day has to use it in the next days round!

Im looking at a guy in Minnesota to do it. He does great work and he is inexpensive. I just want to blast the aluminum and finish it up. Then paint the bar matte black, while adding matte black to the dots and lettering. real nice looking piece, i think it will be. We'll see what he can do.

Here is what I did to one I purchased for cheap a while back.

I like the clean, ninja look.   :ninja:
