Up here in Canada, Golf Town Demo Days are on. I was in there yesterday looking for a 910 13.5 FD and a 910 17 hybrid. Everything in this sale is supposed to be a "demo" I found both the 13.5 FD and 17 hybrid still with the 910 sticker on the clubface and the plastic covering the bottom of the club. Both appeared to never been hit. $140 for the FD $130 for the hybrid out the door.

Ya I noticed a lot of that yesterday aswell. They had some iron sets and a whole bunch of other clubs that still had the wrap on them. It was awesome! I was able to pick up a couple Ping Tour S Rustique wedges for cheap and practically brand new. The biggest score I noticed was some Titleist MB's barely hit for $475. To bad they were right handed.

You could find the odd diamond in the rough. I bought new in plastic callaway x forged 3-9 & PW still in plastic for 400.

But honestly the majority of the stuff was junk and overpriced for their condition.

Their pricing was questionable. Two same clubs one in wrapping and one that was beat up against a hydro pole had the same price.

They take an average of the condition of all the clubs and go from there. It would take someone days to go though all the clubs and evaluate the condition.

And I did see a bunch of excellent deals. $600 for brand new mp59's. Buddy I was with grabbed a TaylorMade DA-12 putter brand new for $50. So there were great deals to be had an I'm sure from location to location it wasn't the same.

All in all it's a great sale and I can't wait til this time next year.

I disagree with this approach. They put a price tag on every sticker. It's in ther hands. They just have to look at at it and say ok it's 2/10 or 7/10 and put the price tag accordingly. 10 more seconds tops for a club or set.

i know what you mean, but did you try and talk to an employee and see if they will do any better on the price? I'm sure if you said this one is brand new and $250 and this one is 5/10 and is also $250 would you be able to do $_____? you never know unless you ask.

I'm just grateful they have such a great sale.

Haha it was insanity in there.

Like I said I'm not complaining about the price of the clubs I bought. New still in wrapper Cally X Forge for $400.

But beside them I only noticed really really beat up Diablo and RAZR sets at the same price.

it was definitely a zoo. i showed up at 8 on the dot and as i was pulling in i seen the line up and the flood of guys going in it looked like a rugby scrum. haha

you should have seen the one scotty square back i seen. i wouldn't have paid $20 let alone the $200 price tag it had.

Does anyone know when the US stores have their demo days?  I went in to the Watertown MA one yesterday but they didn't seem to have anything special going on.

Maybe black friday?

It does not work that way.  We pay the same price for every similar item, whether in plastic or somewhat beat.  Ergo, they sell for the same price.  Early goers get the pristine stuff.

So GT is not doing it right. Because now your stuck with overpriced clubs that nobody will buy at the listed prices.

Eventually the prices will come down to move the stock. So GT takes a hit.

Even if they buy then at a flat rate they can still revise the pricing. If the average is 400 sale price. Put a 500 tag on a new with tags set. 400 on the average and 300 on the beat up set. GT and the buyer still walks away as winners.

That would require three separate SKUs for the same item.  That will not work either as potentially we would have to create hundreds of new SKUs.  As I said, be there early as the main point of bargain hunting is to give yourself the best choices.
