Curious how fast the old guys wing the driver? Was watching the tournament today and was surprised to see a bunch of them hit it 290+. I think Freddie is averaging over 295 for the year.  Anyone have any stats on swing speeds for the older crowd?

Couples still swings in the 115-118mph range but he an exception. There are a handful of guys on the champions tour that still swing that fast but most of the top 10 are in the 110mph range.

Serious response time:

Relevant players (so not the guys who are 70 something) typically swing between 100-115 out there. I'd guess jay haas or Fred funk would be low 100's and Brad Bryant or Tom Lehman would be closer to 115. Someone like couples is a real outlier out there at 118 or whatever he is.

Stood at the tee of a par 5 at the SAS Championship this year.  Most of the guys were in the 260 to 280 range.  Only a few approached 300 yards, Kenny Perry being one of them.

Couples, Perry & Calc seemed to be above the 110 range.  Not so for Lehman and most of the others.  (Limited sample at last years Schwab cup.

Just received a launch lab from Kenny Kerry with a 6x shaft and since I have only hit stiff shafts, I never thought I could hit it but to my amazement, the ball jumps off tbe club and I can really load this shaft.   Thanks Kenny!!
