Made my First Hole in One today after 12 years of playing.  While playing in a Skins Tournament with 90 others at he Bridges of the Black Canyon Course  Hole #7  Par 3  the pin was on the front of the green, 135 yard shot, the ball landed about 8 feet right and short and slowly rolled in.

Needles to say I won a skin for $160  The round of drinks cost me $165  It was well worth it.

ps: I never understood why the person who made the hole-in-one was had to pay for the drinks (I only had to pay for three drinks).

Congrats man! That has to be an awesome feeling. The thing I will never understand is why you have to buy everyone else drinks, ha. I'd tell 'em to blow me and walk away with my money. Seems backwards to me.

Congrats.  I've been playing over 30 years without making a hole in 1, but I'm determined to keep trying.  In Ireland you pay a compulsory insurance premium as part of your club subscription, and it covers you if you hit someone with a ball or damage property, as well as cover for loss or damage to clubs.  Up until this year it did provide you with a payment of €250 for a hole in 1 to cover your bar tab, but this has now changed.  You will now be entered in a monthly draw, and then a grand draw at the end of the year where the first prize is a car.  I'd happily pay my own bar tab for a hole in 1 anyway.

   I agree it is backwards... A player came up to me in the clubhouse and said the same thing, and bought me a drink...Class

    I like the idea of being entered into a draw for a car.

Congrats! I am a member of the have not club. I hit one yesterday that rolled around the sloped green to 2 feet. From the tee box, it looked like it was about to drop. It has to been an exciting feeling to see it drop in the hole. I hope I can enjoy the feeling someday!
