Has anyone played with the The Performance Plus 3GEN golf grip, do you like the feel and wear? What's your favorite color?

I play with one one my Driver. Really good for Tackiness, and pretty good for wear too. Mine is Orange. I don't like the Multi compounds as I find them a bit abrasive now, but the PP 3 Gen feels just that bit more kind to my hands. I used to work outside, so my hands got quite hard, so the Multi compound was fine, but since I stopped working outside, my hands have become softer, and the 3 Gen is better for me.

Feels great & looks good when they're new & clean ... I've never seen a grip that seems to absorb so much dirt, I need to clean them every single round.

they absorb a lot of shock, i have the white ones and i have to clean them with windex as they get really dirty

The white ones are softer then the black ones, very tacky but they get very dirty very quickly.

Thx, for the feedback. I was getting ready to pick these PP 3Gens up at Dicks and they had the Golf Pride Blue w/ White VDR grips at 2.97 in house compared to the PP 3Gens. How do the two compare? Also, Cobra used the grey and the orange on their new clubs. The grey looks sweet.

I have Lamkins on most of my clubs, but here's a reason why GolfPride is the best selling grip in the world ... I just don't like the price of them.

Thx, Brian. So, if the VDR's were cheaper than the PP 3Gens, by 2 bucks a grip, which would you choose?

I've played them since they came out, and I don't notice them picking up more dirt than any other grip.  My biggest complaint with non-black grips prior to these was that they all seemed to have black end caps (other than the significantly higher priced Iomics or Nowons), and the end caps marked up the grips when you put clubs in the bag.  All of the RELs have white end caps though, so the grips look better for longer.

Great grips.  Soft, tacky, and they wear very well.

I'd like to try them, I like the idea of the reduced taper... but I've heard the bit of extra weight can throw off the swingweight of the club.

I changed from VDR to the Lamkins this year.  I find the Lamkin better in every way, feel, tackiness, durability.  But, as others have said, they do get dirtier if that bothers you.

I put some on my Mizunos this year, and went ahead and gripped my driver and 3W as well (I like the same feel throughout). I like 'em alot, seem to maintain tackiness within reason and provide a soft feel while maintaining feedback.  I haven't noticed any personal trauma from the reduced taper so I guess it didn't make any difference to me.  I've played a lot of golf this year, yesterday in a GG I noticed they are not as fresh-feeling and feel sort of slicker than as they did when I put 'em on, though, so I'll scrub 'em tonight and see if that makes a difference.  I may have to spring for a new set next spring, and don't know if I'm going back to tour velvets or staying with the PP3Gen's.  If I do swap out, I probably will stay with the Lamkins if I can find a good price for 'em. They are very nice grips.  I got blue ones (they are Mizunos after all.... )

Hey, btw, any suggestions on revitalizing these things? I've heard Windex, Dawn, etc....what is the real solution?

plus8 - Don't use any chemicals on them just warm soapy water, a green scouring pad (or whatever you call them across the pond?) & some elbow grease - Them come up nice & tacky - I have black ones on my 910's with black Xcaliber shafts & they look very 'Darth Vader' ... Paul

Thanks!  I did that last night, but used dish washing liquid, hot water and a pretty stif nylon scrub brush - and was amazed at how well this worked. Made sure I scrubbed thoroughly and played a round today - grips feel pretty much like new again!  Let's hope they last another year. Thx again,.
