I'm pretty impressed with the FG Tour ball.  Just wondering what the FG means?
I can guess, but I don't think they had in mind what I've come up with.

How about Forged Golf. Does not make sense on the balls but it is used only on forged clubs.

Clearly it's a ball that chooses to not fly "straight". Ball is only legal in a select few states. :)

Their letters for their irons are  D- Distance, C- Control, F- Feel.  I would guess that the F on the ball is Feel but no clue what the G stands for.  But I do agree with "f****g Great."

At one time I might have come across it, but ???   Wilson has a history of using initials from designers in their clubs (RM was Robert Mendralla) so it is likely that FG is someones initials.

I know this question 5 years old but I also wanted to know what the FG brand letters means to Wilson Staff. I researched this and F does mean Feel and G would have to mean Golfer. Where you read the PDF Wilson uses it's 3 lettering system F is the term for a Feel Player. Wilson has a letter for the 3 major type of players. F = Feel; C = Crossover; and D = Distance. This is easy marketing for the 3 types of handicap golfers. Wilson Staff FG brand equipment is best for the low handicap players and the W/S D series of golf clubs is for high handicap players. Since Wilson isn't using the P for player I looked online for FP golf clubs. Cobra Golf did sell irons in 2006 with the FP label. So those letters are more than likely still trademarked by Cobra Golf. Cobra Golf marketed their forgiveness irons with both feel and playability. I found this on a review site not from Cobra Golf. I would presume Cobra Golf FP did mean feel and playability.

I donít know the significance of FG, but I think it predates their current lettering system by many, many years. Itís more likely that FG was one of their designers. JP (Joe Phillips) and RM (Robert Mendrella) are featured on many of their clubs. I just donít know who FG is.

I  believe the G stands for "Game", with the F standing for "Feel" (as opposed to "©ontrol" or "(D)istance"), which are the three categories Wilson assigns to players, not equipment.  But I may be wrong.  I was, after all, wrong once before when I thought I was wrong but I was right.

Ok, so on my search for information on these acronym's I've figured out:

MP for Mizuno: Mizuno Pro.
FG for Wilson: Forged Grind.
aswell as:
962B or 990B for Titleist: 1996 February "BLADE" and 1999 "BLADE"

Can anyone help with my set of 1982 TaylorMade EL-1's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and knowledge is forever lasting.

Thank you very much in advance!
