It has been filmed per foxsports Robert Lusetich (a very good source)

http://msn.foxsports...ith-nike-110212

In a deal reportedly worth at least $200 million, Nike has made the world's No. 1 golfer Rory McIlroyits biggest star.

Although no one involved would officially confirm the signing, FOXSports.com has learned that McIlroy has already filmed his first Nike television commercial, to debut next year.

The two banter while hitting the company’s new red driver and marvel at how far they’re hitting the ball.

The commercial also features two other long-hitting golfers, Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley, who have also made the switch to Nike as the company beefs up what has been a disappointing roster.

McIlroy, who had used Titleist clubs and balls in his five years as a professional, has signed a 10-year deal with the Oregon-based sports giant.

The deal – which could net as much as $250 million – makes him Nike’s highest-paid golfer, replacing Woods.

It’s believed that Woods once earned $35 million a year from Nike, but took a hefty paycut after his marital infidelities became public in 2009.

Cue the Haterade...  Well, at least the direction to Nike is closer to being confirmed.  But to film a commercial with all of them in it?  Talk about a "Hello World" moment!

Not if Tiger is already a billionaire.  Nike is banking on the future.  I would too.

Plus I believe others have mentioned it on here before that Tiger has stock options in NIke or NIke golf. So while his "salary" from them might be less, his dividend check will be much fatter due to overall growth in business.

I'm sure it stings a little but honestly, he knows the game. He knows how this all works out. I am not sure who was the highest paid endorser when Tiger signed with Nike, Norman maybe, but I don't think that guy, nor Tiger, should take it too personally. Tiger understands business. That's all this is.

Tiger is making money everytime a cash register goes off.  That's a deal I could definately live with.

But $200M+ for 10 years, that's a healthy bit of change for Young Rory.  I'd love to have that problem to deal with!  But the major question is:  Will he play the new driver?  :)

He is in fact a billionaire, but how much does he really have now?

Tiger used to be the 'show' all these yrs for Nike.  Their flag ship player.  Now rory comes in and will likely take a lot of the spotlight and get paid big $$$.  Regardless of how much money tiger has, it has to really piss him off.

Just my opinion tho.

It might burn his britches, but then again, it might not as we might think.  But when one guy is the "show" as Tiger was, is IMO, an uncomfortable place to be.  Now you have old and new in the same stable.  I'm sure Tiger helped bring him in.  We'd all be naive to think that he had no input from Nike or Rory himself.  As far as the contract, you step out and let the other man deal with his money.  He got an outstanding deal, acknowledging his starpower, no doubt.  But I still contend, even though the contract is huge, Tiger is probably making money off of him too.  Best of both worlds, IMO.

I mentioned this in another thread but I get the feeling that TW recruited Rory and is probably getting royalties from this deal. Rory might be the highest paid golfer on contract but not at the end of the day.

TW has a stake in Nike Golf and therefore makes money off Rory.

I cannot be 100% on this, but it is my impression that ALL Nike staffers will have new ball and driver in bag.

It wouldn't stun me if Rory's $200 million isn't all in cash, that stock options might be involved.

There's nothing that stops Tiger from challenging Rory for #1 again except his head.  Nike will be laughing all the way to the bank if these two can pull off a Palmer/Nicklaus or Nicklaus/Watson duo.

Worst case, both players have great international presence and should help growth in the European and Asian markets.

LOL well if this was the one and only Rory to Nike thread I would say 7.1 million pages. However since this is the 57th Rory to Nike thread It will lose steam and fizzle. I will put the over under at 5 pages. YOU'RE WELCOME!
