Here are some pics of my first reshafting project. This was done with project x 6.5 satin shafts and Callaway Diablo irons. I also put 3 Rifle Spinner shafts into JAWS wedges. I think it came out quite nicely for a 1st run. I also cleaned out the paintfill on the wedges, but have yet to decide which nail polish colors to use instead.

Looks good I like the ferrules.  I would definitely pick a paint fill to match them. I'm going to be doing mine this winter as well.

Very nice man! Ferrules from Cell Parts?

I'm doing mine tonight for the first time, grey/white ferrules and grey/white grips. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

they're backwards... but those look really good. My irons are going to get the new ferrule/paint fill treatment in the next few weeks. Cell parts ferrules?

not sure if my ferrules are from Cell Parts. I got them off the bay for about $2 each. Only brand i found that had lots of different colors with the 2 rings at the top part of the ferrule.
The ferrules I got are extremely tight for .370 shafts, but 20 secs in boiling water and I can slide them on with the iron head or a ferrule tool.

Looks like a fun project ahead of you! So how would I go about doing this myself? It's something I'd be interested in doing myself this winter.

The Cell Parts ones fit very well, but to preset them on I used a basic method:

1. Nuke a cup of water for about a minute
2. Let the ferrules sit in
3.grab one, grab one of your iron heads, and use that to push it on.

For turning, I taped the hosel, got the bulk down with 100 grit sandpaper, and the used a t-shirt and acetone to finish.

So I'm new to this all together...

Do I need to remove my grips to get the ferrules on? How do I know how far to push the ferrules on? What's the best method to remove the ferrules?

You'll need to remove the heads to put new ferrules on.  Once the heads are removed, you'll need to clean out the heads to get all the old epoxy out and clean the old epoxy off the tips (and inside) of the shafts (if you are reusing or installing pulls).  The tips will need to be prepped with 100 grip sand paper for about 1 1/2 inches for good adhesion.  Slide the ferrule onto the tip  of the shaft and use an iron head to put it down as far as you can (by sliding the tip inside the hosel).  Prep your epoxy per the instructions, add some shafting beads.  Apply epoxy to about the first inch of the prepped shaft, put some epoxy inside the hosel, no need to fill the hosel, just make sure that you get some epoxy all the way down in the bottom of the hosel.  Slide the head onto the shaft as far as it will go.  I usually spin the head 360* just to make sure the epoxy and shafting beads are all seated and cover the hosel.  To make sure the shaft is seated all the way into the hosel, I just tap the butt end of the shaft on a board I have on the ground.  Sit the club up against the wall and let it dry.

Or, search Youtube for golf club reshafting.  that should help.

You have to remove the clubheads to put the ferrules on

Here is how I did it on my set:

1. Heat a pot of water on the stove
2. Push the ferrule on the end of the shaft as far as you can
3. Put the ferrule/shaft in the hot water for ~30 seconds
4. Use the clubhead to push the ferrule up the shaft as far as you can

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the ferrule is in the correct position

A quick tip is make sure to epoxy the inside of the ferrules, don't premount them before epoxying they shafts messy but the ferrules will never move up the shaft.

Thanks guy. How would I know which size ferrule to order? I'm looking on cell parts. I have PX flighted 6.0 shafts in my 09' cally x forged. Parallel shafts? I'm looking at the white base with red/white/blue rings, but I have no experience with cell parts. They haven't responded to my emails either.
