I put the pxi 5.5 in a set of callaway razr blacks.  I get the benefits of a game improvement club but without hitting moon balls.  Much lower ball flight and a smooth feel.  I could probably benefit from a little more spin since our greens are rock hard right now, but I'm coming from nippon shafts.

I currently play PX 6.0 flighted...thinking of the PXi shaft in a new set of irons this year.  Anyone compare the PXi to the PX flighted.  How is the ball flight feel and distance control?

Ive had them in my vr pro combos for nearly a week now. Loving it so far. It's been really windy so hard to compare at the mo. I had nippon s flex before but was over powering them and getting a lot of ballooning. Mine have been built by golfsmith and were made to MOI the same as a 7 iron built to test. The every iron feels like every other one which i love. I'll get pics up on friday when i give them a clean as i had custom ferrules made too.

So far ive noticed i get a much better more penetrating ball flight. I'm actually launching the ball higher and carrying 5-10 more yards. I also don't get any ballooning into the wind which is great. Like i say when the weather is better i can give you more specific results.

:)

I've hit these a bunch of times and love the performance. The only hesitation that I have battled elbow tendinitis for the last two season and is the original PX shafts are pretty tough on them....always wind up back in pain.
The tip on the PXI definitely feels a little softer and it feel much smoother......just worried about taking the plunge and then having elbow issues 3 weeks after I get them installed.

Graphite works best. Other than that, lighter steel with Pro Soft inserts or Sensicore helps. Something with a little softer tip section also seems to help avoid a flare up. PX are the most harsh. KBS is not bad. DG are ok, Dynalite Gold XP even better

Amazing shaft!

Long time PX user and tinkered with C taper and KBS Tour but was not impressed at all.

Higher ball flight without balloning, soft landing on the green, very accurate but plenty of feel and smoothness but stout enough to keep the ball where it needs to be.

This shaft will make some noise for sure

I have a virtually brand new set of PXI 4-GW in 5.5 that I had swapped out for graphites after one range session due to ongoing elbow tendonitis if anyone is interested shoot me a PM.

To clarify, the PXI's did not cause the elbow issue.  They were installed in a custom ordered set of Adams CMB's that I rec'd in Sept.  In the time between ordering and receiving them, my elbow condition worsened, forcing me to make the switch to graphites.  Too bad, because the one range session was sweet!

Pm sent on the PXi's......I have a set of tour issue Dynamic Gold S400's if you'd be interested in a swap of sorts. Some of them are still uncut.

I have a set of 6.0 installed in a set of pro gold tour issued irons that feel fantastic. Great midflight and soft flush feel. I think you really need to hit these in different flexes to make sure you get the right one. I have been playing dg r300 and c taper r+ and I feel the PXI feels the best. I am going to build a set in 5.5 for my winter clubs. Also these irons are every bit as forgiving as any of the newer cb irons being released today. Just because it is new doesn't mean better. :beach:

Ever tried Aerotech Steelfiber shafts?  I used to have the elbow issues as well, but not since I made the shift to the Steelfibers.

Yes, same flex going from one to the other. I found the PXi to feel slightly stiffer, and launch just a tad higher. Feel is improved in the PXi but it's nothing WOWing to me but that's because I've never felt the regular PX felt harsh.
