I am in a bit of a weird situation. About 2 weeks ago member Rusty18 and I agreed to make a trade. I would send my Bettinardi SS7 to him and he would send his Oakley fast jackets to me. We both agreed through email to ship our items on Monday, October 15. I sent out the putter and provided him with a tracking number. I was never given a tracking number. The putter arrived at his house on Wednesday, October 17. After that Monday, I have not heard anything at all from him. I have sent multiple PM's and emails, however he still has not responded. I gave him time to get the glasses here before I posted this, but they still have not arrived. I don't know what to do, and hope that I am just being paranoid and they will get here eventually.

That is why I would never trade with anyone, you have no recourse at all other than "outing" him here. That still doesn't get you what you are owed. :(

Wish you luck and hope it does arrive.

He hasn't been active in 10 days,

He has good feedback, didn't seem like a risky deal.

That is exactly what I thought. He has 19 feedback. If he had 0 feedback I never would have done it. I dont know what I can do besides wait...

you can try to get drpino to try to get ahold of him for you. Send drpino a pm and explain what happened, maybe he will help you out here.

Let a mod know or see if any of his previous transactees have had the same problem?

sure sounds like you did the right thing by contacting drpino. the fact that he has not been on the board would seem to me that maybe something happened to them ( sure hope not )  I would think they should have  gotten back to an email though. good luck

Not much recourse if you don't know his true name and all that stuff.  I would hope a member wouldn't run away with a $100 putter.  The fact he hasn't logged in makes it seem like something else.  Was he in any of the areas hit by the storm?

You have his address right? See if you can get his phone number by looking up his name and address and blow up the number until he answers.  Sucks that there are people like that out there everywhere.

I have dealt with Rusty before, and he seems like a genuinely good person. I also know he has a pretty time consuming job, so maybe he has been bogged down with work. He lives in the NY area as well, so maybe he had a friend or family member affected by the storm he is helping.

I absolutely understand your frustration, but he is a class act and I would think theres a very simple explanation behind the situation

Not sure how pissed off you are about this?  Not sure it's worth the time and riks it would take to do.  But does anyone know if you could file a claim in small claims court and have him served in another state?  Thing is you have to pay to start the case, and to have him served.  But you could seek to make him pay all those costs associated with it.  Again - it would be time consuming, and if you lose, you're out more cash.  But I don't think you'd lose.  Just don't know how it works interstate.

Just thinking out loud.  :to_become_senile:   Because I know how frustrated you must be.

Everyone calm down a little. Drpino lives in NY and lots of places in Queens\Long Island still do not have power or internet access.

Where is Rusty located since you have his address? If he's located in Sandy affected area. There's a chance that he may not have access to check anything either.

I was knocked back to stoneage for an entire week with no power and even cell phone didn't work. A package shipped to me a week and half prior didn't arrive until this past Sat.

It's extraordinary times so let's all give a little more patience

Agreed, except there's been no communication since long before Sandy rolled through.

While this is very possible the trade was supposed to happen well before Sandy had hit. Giving the OP no communication for this long is really unacceptable.

He lives in Bedford, which I do understand was affected by Sandy, but he has not logged on since October 17, long before Sandy did any damage or knocked out power.

Just gave him a call, he said he has been really sick for a couple of weeks and completely forgot about what was going on. He said he will ship them out tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's help in sorting this out!

Glad you got ahold of him.  Still not sure how that kind of thing happens, though.   Getting that sick immediately after you strike a deal with someone.  You'd think if he were that sick he would've been in the hospital and told you that after the fact.  And also, if that were the case and he wasn't in the hospital, you'd think getting a club in the mail a few days later would be a bit of a reminder.

Maybe I'm just over-thinking it or just haven't had it happen to me.
