Its been a while since I've posted something and the fall season normally gets my juices going for playing golf with the old gear.  I thought I start a thread today and see if you guys can dig up your favorite club that displays perfect or a grain pattern you really like. Here is one of my Wood Bros drivers from the Mid 1980s. Grain is tight horse shoe shape starting at the pear of the toe.  Would like to see some others if you have the time.

Fred that's not a bad way to re-introduce yourself back to the fold, like tight grain, some age to that block. Am like you come winter time I start hankering for the older equipment. will have a root thro and try and find something worth posting.

Freddie,
Beautiful golf club.  I love the horseshoe grain or the straight across grain.  It adds symmetry to a club with transparent or translucent stain.

Some nice looking drivers.  Persimmon drivers were often a work of art.  Quality persimmon was getting
harder to find by the mid 80s.

Here is a driver that I made for PGA Tour players in 1990-1994 that still wanted a wooden driver.  David frost won with one.  I crafted these in japan with the Dunlop Maxfli staff.  Wood was from the USA.  The other is my Armour I played with for years.  653 head.  tad

Teevons-

Thanks again for the '67 LH MacGregor Tourney with the Al insert....and the matching 4 wood....

We used them in our recent trip to Chicago, when we played Marovitz in the morning...

Both are very solid.

Rex, thanks for re posting your clubs.

Couple more of my favorites.  A Blonde Wood Bros  and a Hogan Pro model.

Tim, its a beauty! Huge face on that guy. Interesting insert as well, must be a replacement, or maybe not, the color contrast makes the insert look very burgandy like. Handsome club

Wow!  After looking at these it makes a person wonder why anybody would want to play with the suff stamped out today.  Persimmon is wonderful and the folks that made those are truly artisans.

Recent refinish on this Toney Penna The Natural. The club was owned by a former mini tour player, real nice grain pattern and finish, lots of carbon spots. Graphite insert S400 shaft
