Seriously though, I hope they bring either the 913 Hd or the 712U to retail. They both look great!

I'm missing something... It's a driving iron...and a blade at that.  Yay?

This will probably benefit less than 1% of all golfers.  Joe Divot at the muni won't be able to get this 10 feet in the air.  Titleist's first iron-like utility, the 503h, was a flop at retail.  With the 913 on the way, I don't know where this could fit in their retail strategy.

How was he correct when he admitted #1 he hadn't seen the "prototype" club and then that it was most likely the 913HD that he was talking about.

I'll stand by my post (and info I received from Titleist) that he had never seen or hear of this club.

Greg

Let it go Lance Armstrong... better to just admit you (and so many others) were wrong, and move on.

Dude was right about this coming out, when no one had a clue, and A LOT of people here really beat him up about it. So many threads about how GolfWRX has become negative, and that one was a textbook example. There's no need for you to argue semantics, and then state: "I'll stand by my post...", that simply compounds negativity and facilitates an unnecessarily argumentative environment.

Oh, and those 712U's look pretty wicked... hope they play well too :)

Recreate history all you want, but the situation was pretty simple.  Guy starts a thread and makes incredibly vague claims about a club he "personally saw" but has no more info on.  The guy backtracks and admits he never saw anything, but simply heard about it from a friend.  People weren't criticizing him because they thought he was wrong, people criticized him because making a thread saying "hey guys, I think a big new club is coming out from titleist" with no other information and then admitting your initial story wasn't even true is just simply crappy posting and clogging up the forum with garbage.  For us now to look back and say "hey that guy who gave us news so broad it was worthless might have been kinda right, take that everyone who said his post sucked because it was pure speculation and added nothing!"  It's just really bizarre honestly, that was always the problem with that thread, even if the guy was "right" he was so broad and provided so little information that the thread was worthless either way.  If you really want to call out someone because of this, you're more than welcome to do so, just know that you're completely wrong.

I hope Mizuno follows Titleist lead on this one, with a true forged blade driving iron. The forgings from Mizzy feel so much better than Titleist.

Yeah, I don't see this club helping a large amount of golfers either. But I can see how it would excite the low 'caps on WRX, and also those that appreciate the beauty in traditional clubs.

MP-H4 is pretty nice - the Miura version is unreal though!

No place more displays egos than on here, people can't just say they were wrong. Alot of you same ppl in the know said rory wasn't going to Nike and now it definitely looks like he will be. The guy simply stated wat he heard, did he embellish? Yes. But at the end of the day. He was right because the club exists. That simple. You guys want to argue semantics, be my guest. Doesn't change the fact that he was right. I distinctly remember so many of you saying it "doesn't exist", "no way", and "I've talked to such and such". Here is the club, he was right. That simple. Put your egos down. It's a golf forum, is he not allowed to talk abt what he heard? Some of you "hacks", which we all are unless you're on tour, take yourselves way too seriously. It's a golf forum. Treat it as such.

Titleist scored a spectacular own goal with their failiure to launch the 913Hd to their loyal customers. Lets hope this isn't another "Tour Only" boutique type club that creates another wave of animosity. Brands like Callaway and Mizuno already are far ahead in R&D on this type of club.

Will Titleist catch up. Or are they turning into a Tour Only Manufacturer. IMHO they have totally got they hybrid marketing wrong. The should be competing with Adams for the players market, but fall way short.

A 2 and strong 4 would suit me perfectly!

On a windy day, there is nothing more penetrating then a 2 driving iron.

Apart from a 1 iron maybe! Only joking. For all you TM haters out there, here's one. A Taylormade ICW11 iron from a few years ago. A foam filled cavity iron that was so nice to hit. Had a 2 iron in it that I would throw into the bag on a windy day or when playing links courses. Perhaps Titleist will buy Taylormade to stop them sueing them. lol
