So I've got the shaft I love...wondering about trying another TM driver head. Currently use a 9.5* R9...from which I get excellent distance and have good trajectory...just curious what the consensus on longest head is?

I have the TM adjustable tip so it obviously needs to be compatible...R9, Supertri, R11, R11s, RBZ et cetera..

What say you?

The R11s is just ridiculously long.  I liked the RBZ heads as well, but r11s spun less.  I have had mine for a month, so still in the honeymoon phase, but it's by far and away the best driver I've ever hit.  On my longest drives, I have picked up 30 yards, and I hit it long enough before that I didn't really think there was enough distance on the table that a simple equipment change would add THAT much.  Extremely accurate with the Matrix Black Tie combo as well.  Love that shaft.

Depending on your numbers, you may not see an increase.  All the adjustable heads are maxed out on how hot the face can be.  The only question is whether your launch and spin are optimized.

I needed very low spin, so the Superdeep has worked for me.  I did get to hit the R11 and it was a little longer, but it was also 1.5° stronger.

For me, the SuperTri spun like crazy, so it was the shortest for me.  The longest for me was the RBZ Tour, then the R11.  It's completely individual results though.

Pull the adjustable tip off that shaft and stab it into a Superfast 2.0 TP. Longest TM head I've ever hit. R11s is close but still short 10+ yards for me. If you must have an adjustable head 11s is probably best.

Everyone's swing is different. Take the shaft down to a local retailer with demos and ask to try your shaft in a few of their demo heads. I don't see why they'd say no??

All 0.83 COR, so assuming ideal launch conditions, they will all go the exact same.

R9 superdeep is real low spin if thats what you need

R9 supertri is pretty high spin if you have a slower SS it will be longer than the SD.

All depends on you.

Currently playing the Burner Superfast 2.0 TP with the Matrix HD6 x stiff shaft. By far the longest straightest driver I have ever played. Swing speed is 105-110. I've been looking at the RBZ stage 2 tour TP driver with the Black Tie 7m3 shaft. Have heard this is a slightly stiffer shaft. Do you play an X or S shaft. Curious your thoughts on the shaft.

TaylorMade uses really old face technology.  It was first introduce in the r500 series drivers and they haven't changed it in 10 years since then.  Every driver since the old r500's are not going to be any longer than something that was designed 10 years ago.  This is why you see so much love for the old r510 TP becuse it is just as long as anything TM can make today.  So as far as distance goes it's like everybody keeps saying it all depends on you and what fits your swing.

The r11s tour issue v3 (400 cc head) is completely outrageous. I can't believe how far it goes and you can get them for a reasonable price now on ebay

Correct....it all depends on your swing which head might be longer. I will also add this....what I liked in my Superquad, I did not like in my
R9. This has happen to me a few times when changing heads.

Do not limit yourself to "that" one shaft when looking for a new TM head....try others that are are close in weight, bend point and tip strength. You might be surprised once you do.

Also, you might have to do some dialing in on a newer head before you feel you are set, so don't just stick your fav shaft in and expect more distance.

I have tried them all except the SD and to be honest with you, it is so hard to compare them because I was 5-6 years younger with a few them and I know that I hit it further back then, but I also know OEM's have improved ball speed on these heads from 5 years ago. It is their main goal, that and reduce spin and add LA in order to make distance claims.

I had a very good year last year with my R11s GD DI 6 combo, combined with a Srixon XV and some perfect conditions, I felt it was longer then many of the past offerings. Some brief testing with the new R1 seems to show the potential for some more length under certain conditions for me based on a higher LA and less spin. We will see as the weather changes how it stacks up.

On the R9 and ST, the key is to try a 8-1-8 weight set up and a touch less loft.
On the R9 460 the key is to add hot melt or lead tape to get a good head weight to match up
On the R11.....well, the key is to find a HOT head as some are not based on my testing and reduce head weight about 4-6 grams.
On the R11s the key was a touch less weight, ASP slightly closed and in the N position...sits really square compared to past offerings which I felt sat slightly closed.
On the R1, pretty much like the R11s but try a loft setting 1/2 degree higher then you would normally play.

Last thought....I always felt that the glue in heads were the longest made by TM in recent years...I also felt that they were not as straight as the adjustable versions...I stuck with the adjustable for this reason and that one can add or remove head weight to get a good SW no matter how long or short the shaft is.

I found thee R11S and RBZ Tour to be the longest Taylormade drivers.  For my swing the R1 was a few yards behind the R11S with the stock and Fubuki Alpha x stiff shafts.  Superdeep was very long too but was not forgiving on mishits.
