I'm almost happy with my setup right now. I may be changing a few things around within the next month but for the moment the moment I'm holding me back mostly, not my clubs.
To start, I've got a Burner 2.0 9.5 driver with the stock stiff shaft and a GP NDMC grip. I chose this driver because for some reason I tend to get wild with my swings when I try to crank on it and I don't know where they are going. The longer shaft and a forced calm swing with this gets me out to a 243 avg right now since I've bought it with 50% in the middle (or close), 23% left and 27% right. I can deal with those numbers for right now.
Then we have the Nike VR Pro 15* 3w with a PX6.0 shaft. I used to absolutely love this wood, from the tee, fairway, didn't matter. I swung and it went. I've lost it somewhere and now 90% of the balls I strike with it are topped and go nowhere. Yesterday I had 2 great swings with it and thought it was back and then promptly dumped one OB as a ground rocket about 40 yards from my lie. I think it's got to go, I may have bad mojo on it now.
Hybrid is an Adams 19* with a Graffaloy blue in stiff, when I bought this club in August, I could hit the ball with my eyes closed with it. Now it's become a toe machine and it never comes out of the bag anymore either, it may soon be replaced so I can get something I have confidence in.
Irons are by far my favorite. I'm not always a great ball striker but when I'm off these still mask it well enough to give me no reason to blame the irons. Titleist AP1 712's with the stock S300 shafts, the launch the ball high and straight for me when I do my part and I believe I may actually be in love with them hahahaha.
Wedges (this is an odd combo at the moment) are a Titleist Vokey 54 and 56. I was playing a 56* Titleist and a 60* 588 but I just had no consistency with the 60, hit a lot of thin shots at the worst times so I've taken it out and I'm trying to decide which Vokey wedge gives me what I'm looking for (14 bounce on the 54, 07 bounce on the 56). Then I'll replace the other with another hybrid for longer shots most likely.
Last but not least, my money maker (most days) is my Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2. I was putting with a belly putter for quite a while but I wanted to get back to a standard putter and something I would actually like enough to practice my putting more. I saw this one and ran with it.
All of this sits in my Adidas Approach cart bag, if I can ever get that handicap down into the single digits over the next few years, I'm going to splurge and buy myself a blinged out Titleist bag but for now I'm trying to stay low key hahaha. I'd worked my way down to a personal best of a 15.5 this summer but I've developed a bad habit of picking up my head during a swing and trying to muscle the club with my right hand and it's crept back up to a 17 and probably going higher until I remove this flaw from my muscle memory.
On to the pics, my wife has run off with the camera so iPhone pictures are all I could pull off after I finished cleaning up from the round this morning.
