Ye Callaway had something going back when grooves were still big but their latest releases haven't been top of the pack. I am sure with the new management and Roger Cleveland they will have something big next year.

The wedge pecking order probably goes:

Cleveland
Titleist
Mizuno
TM
Ping
then only Callaway. You might even be able to throw Nike in there above them.

Mizuno on the bottom easily.

How does the best short game player in the world use a wedge that is "... On the bottom easily"?? Also, this list is missing the very responsive SCOR wedges.

... goes to show different strokes for different folks. And that's ok. It's nice to have options.

How are Callaway's wedges top of the pack?  I would say the clear consensus winner is generally either Titleist or Cleveland in this department, with TM being right behind.  Callaway haven't really released anything new or interesting since the jaws wedge, which is like 3 or 4 years old now right?  The X forged is probably one of the worst wedges I've ever used and I haven't used one since.

Sheeple never cease to amaze me.

Vokey cast, whatever makes you happy.
Cleveland are sweet.
TM - that's funny, what the ATV is a shovel
Cally X series forged (newer) and Jaws are pretty popular on Tour.

Each to his own, still ROTFL @ TM though

I've been playing golf 20+ Yrs and mostly used Titleist & Cleveland, I've messed around a few odd balls as well. I'd rank the Mizuno MP-R-12 as a sleeper that feels & IMO performs better than my (no in basement) SM & SM4's. great Forged feel Spinner shaft and fair price.

I currently have TM, Vokey, Cleveland and Mizuno wedges in my bag and the Mizuno blows the others away for me

I once had a mizuno sw and that thing was money. They are way underrated.

Apparently you never tried one.  One of the best out there.  Far better than any TM wedges.
Sales wise they probably are near the bottom. They may be good, but you don't see a whole lot of them in play.
That said...both Mizuno and TM would share bottom.  I've seen very few TM wedges in play at the course.
I've never seen a TMAG wedge in the wild.
Nor have I. Several of my friends are hardcore TM guys and they have never kept them in the bag, the latest being the ATV this past year. I never asked why they didn't keep them though.

The Callaway X Forged CC Slate model is outstanding and I have not found another wedge that compares yet. I have tried Vokey SM4, Scratch 1018's, TaylorMade ATV and Cleveland 588's in the last 6 months (due to my current Callaways starting to wear out and my ho'ing issues) and nothing has replaced them yet.   I am currently trying the Mizuno line but I am fearing the same outcome.  I have my eyes on a few opportunities on ebay and I will purchase another set of X Forge CC Slates for the next season.

Callaway ranks very highly but then again -wedges are a very feel oriented clubs and feel is very subjective to each player.    I think this is why this type of website is a valuable source of Golf information since the big magazine "hot lists" are becoming a weak avenue for additional information.  Obviously, you need to filter through some feedback in this forum since they are very bias to one OEM.

Wedges are so personal I don't know how you could honestly rank them.  One man's best grind is another's chunk.  Cast or forged, Vokey's are on top but for one reason, you see them most often in the WITB pics of the pros.

I have to be honest. I must be in the minority but I love the TM ATV. I used to play ping eye 2 becu (still have them) and eventually went to Nike sv. The sv never meshed with me on anything but full shots. The ATV has 56 and 60 feel a lot like my eye2s, pretty heavy and wide sole. I play around a 10 handicap (it varies) and my long game is my strong suit. I've always struggled at scrambling especially, Half wedge, pitch shots, chips..... I go thru spots where it's blade, chunk, blade, chunk.... We've all done it. At one point I hate admitting it but i was shooting consitantly low 80s from the tips, on tough courses, with an odyssey x-act chipper in my bag. I know, I know, but the bladed or chunked chips were costing me 3-4 shots a round! The ATV fixed it for me. I have to say, the sole works for me. I'll admit, it doesn't feel as good as the 588 forged (though I do like the feel), and for me nothing spins better than a vokey sm4 on a full shot (but i still spin these ATVs back if i want), but for me, what kills my rounds is bad shots from 50 yards in. With my ATV I hit way more consistent pitches, half shots, and high pitches/lobs. Works great for the flop too. It saves me strokes... That's what I look for in wedges.

For my game it is the best wedge I've ever played..... Figured I'd throw out a differing perspective.

The best wedges in the world are the hand ground custom wedges by Don White for Scratch.

All previously mentioned are just cookie cutter, minimum feature clones.

How many of you guys are even comparing the same exact wedge specs against each other from each company?

I'm not saying you all are, but I've seen people grab a 56 14* wedge and then a 60 8* or something and then say which one they prefer.

I'd understand if you said I prefer this Nike 60* over this TM 60*, but even then, if you're comparing one with a special grind against the stock offering from another brand, that's not even a fair comparison.

I have a hunch that in a blind test with the same specs on the wedges, few people would ever be able to tell the difference.
