The clubs, bags, balls, carts and other paraphernalia take up about 1/3 of a 12,000 sq ft building. (1,200Sq meters)

This guy wasn't really a collector. He was a hoarder. He bought everything and anything connected to golf. I probably have a couple thousand golf balls and a billion tees. He is about 90 years old. When his Alzheimer's got bad enough he couldn't go out anymore. That was about 4-5 years ago. But his daughter said he was into this do 15-18 years. So he probably started this gig around 1990 or so. Newest pro line stuff would probably be pre 2000, from the later years. Hoard has some things that are conspicuous by their absence here is a brief recap.
Only 2 ping putters and two old sets of Ping clubs. Surprising. But evidence of it having been picked.
One Calaway driver and a hickory stick. No other Calaways.
Half dozen or so Taylormade tour burners. A few earlier models. No putters or irons.
3 king Cobra metal woods, no irons
No Oddessys.
A few hundred assorted metal woods, 75% are retail or knock offs. The rest pro line, but almost no titanium stuff.
Probably 50 graphite or composite head woods.
There are at least 200 sets of irons.
Probably 70 of them are praline blades...including a few leftys. ( w/s turf rider and golfcraft come to mind)
Around a hundred bulls eyes of all sizes and styles.
I have 2 big fiber barrels full of persimmon that I don't have room to keep. Lots of Mac, Golfcraft, Titleist, Burke, Spalding, etc.
Last week I gave 70 sets to a local group called Mulligans4life. They are like the1st Tee program the the PGA sponsors.
Tomorrow am. giving another hundred or so sets to the local school system. They are doing to add golf to the curricula in the middle and high schools next school year. I am feeling really good about both of those gifts. 2 worthy causes.

I agree - that's a wonderful thing to do. well done !
If you have a Spalding Tour Edition Custom Crafted S22 6-iron from c1992 kicking about in one of those buckets please add Blade Junkie to the list of good causes

Over 110 full sets, 350 bags
2-3,000 loose balls
several shag bas full of balls
350-400 metal wood
A couple hundred putters
250-300 club head covers, many in sets
Over 200 sorted persimmon woods
250 sorted wedges.
4000 loose clubs. Maybe 6000... I don't know for sure
They are going to work out something for the art and industrial arts depts to do some cool stuff.
Their golf team is going to have a giant golf "garage" sale as a fund raiser
Most of the full sets will be used for the golf programs the school system is going to add to the phys Ed departments in middle and high schools.
I still have a couple hundred sets of irons, metal woods ,putters and wedges to give to two other organizations. Kind of a warm, fuzzy, feel good things to do. And I still found more vintage clubs than handle.. With a little luck, I can get the rest of this stuff to them in the next few weeks.

hopefully more posts next week as I wind down toward the end. No doubt it was picked over, especially the putters. But it has been a rush anyway. I could still open a museum. No true "10's" in the lot. But a few solid 9's and a plethora of and 8's.
