foursomes / alternate shot?

i was at the presidents cup all day saturday.

the pairings said foursomes in the morning, seemed like they were playing alternate shot. is there a difference or is it ryder cup vs. presidents cup?

Should be exactly the same game. Foursomes is a standard match format. There are other variations, but the RC and PC use basic foursomes.

mjtotal is correct. Foursomes and alternate shot are two words for the same match format.
