My favorite part of the round is that I birdied #18 under immense pressure... This was my home course all through high school (4 years of varsity golf) and it is only the 3rd time I ever birdied it!! It is the biggest green on the course and for some reason I never make a putt on that darn green. Just for the record I read the putt on 18 to be dead straight, when I hit the putt I pulled it a little bit to the right edge... It broke back right into the middle of the cup. Someone was looking over me today. Maybe Payne Stewart??

Nope... it was Seve looking out for you... he's been hanging out in the US for a few days now making magic happen

So what you're saying is that you'll give me about 18 strokes and still probably beat me?

Great shooting BTW! I can't wait till I can break par with ease.

After my up north trip to Northern Michigan 2 weeks ago and playing some of the toughest courses in the state (Black Forest, Elk Ridge, Black Lake) I guess this course was a cake walk. Haven't played this course since the very first round of the year in March either. First time every aspect of my game was on fire

Great round Muffin...Agree on Black Lake what a fantastic course and cheap to play, Elk is also very nice....Now a 58 at Black Lake that would really be something!

Nice work!  Even more impressive that you were a) aware of your score and b) posting about it!  If I ever sniffed 10 shots higher than that I'd have to be off in my own little world.

Thank you all. I was surprised to see the criticism about posting on here during the round. I was having the round of my life and I wanted to share it with GolfWrx community. It was the first time I ever stood on a par 3 and actually had visions of a hole in 1 before I swung my club. Pretty strange feeling. On the 15th hole.. I normally hit 3 iron off the tee short of the pond in front but I was in such a zone that I grabbed driver and ripped it at the green. To be honest I wanted to prove that person wrong that said I would fall apart for posting mid round. After the round I thought to myself "what the hell were you thinking on that hole"? It all fell into place in the end. I missed two 8 footers.... As I have always said: no matter how low you shoot, you feel like you left a couple out there. I'm going to play tomorrow with my new Vokey, I hope I can shoot a decent follow up, we shall see

No wonder rounds of golf take a minimum of 5 hours these days.  Stop texting and driving (the golf ball).

Nice round!

so how long was this putt putt course? Not that I dont believe you but if you shot a 58 thats 14 under par on a par 72 but thats tough, would def have to see to believe.

I admit it is a short course but also has quite a bit of O.B and plenty of water that i have been in my fair share of times & it is a par 70.I've played it about 1,000 times. I barely have to read a putt out there because I have been EVERYWHERE on that course. The majority of the holes for me are reachable with 3 iron/ wedge or 9 iron with exactly 3 drive able par 4's for me from the tips. I understand the "prove it" mentality because it is an outrageous claim but it is true.

I will happily share my next few rounds regardless of outcome. I kind of want to finish off the year doing something fun since prices are dropping and soon all the greens will be punched. my ideas so far are: play with irons and wedges only (no woods) OR try a 4 club round... (Driver, 7 iron, 60°, putter). OR play a round using the very first full size set of irons I hit when I was a little guy. Any other ideas? I think I'll be able to get in a handful or so more rounds before it gets too cold

Persimmon challenge. Get some old 70's Wilson Staffs and some Ben Hogan woods and see how it goes!

Forgot I snapped these pics out there... I was also updating my dad with my scores because he always wants to know how I am shooting so I took these pics. They are my eagle putts on the 2 par 5's. the first is from the 8th hole. Second shot was from 192 with a 6 iron. The second pic is the 13th hole. Second shot was from 148 with a PW (tee was moved up about 20 yards). A total of 4 feet worth of putts on par 5's make for low scores I guess.
