Looking for some recommendations on cold weather golf pants.  I've seen some nice under armor pants at golf galaxy, but I believe they were $80.  I'm looking for pants similar to those, but at about half that price.

I bought three pairs of those under armour cold weather/rain pants... they are awesome.. warm and waterproof.. they were on the clearance rack at $40 each...

I bought a pair of Under Armour type  base layer pants from TJ Maxx last year for $12. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the brand. The base layer pants combined with your typical golf slacks will keep you toasty warm.

UA's are worth the extra coin. Mine aren't water proof but resistant and they're perfect for cool days, or paired with a base layer I can be fine in 40 weather.

Definitely worth it to pony up for UA stuff, or at least wait till you find it in a clearance rack. With some good timing, I've gotten a few pairs of their pants/shorts for under 10 bucks.

I believe the OP is looking for something in the $30-$40 ball park, $129 on a pair of pants is ridiculous. I much rather buy a base layer for $7 at Kohls then ever spend that much.

Ok...Just thought I'd throw another option out there. Different strokes for different folks. Maybe someone else reading this won't think that $129 for a pair of "specialized" pants is ridiculous. It's a quality product that will last for a while. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I found a pair of UA cold weather pants this year at GG for less than $40. That particular day was about 106* and humid in St. Louis. The pants were heavily discounted. I have not had the chance to wear them yet, but I am really looking forward to my first below 50* round.

I have some of the Adidas Fall Weight Pants and love them. I played yesterday and it was 38* when I started (the joys of living in WI). Felt warm without being bulky. $80 at TGW but you can find them as low as $45-$50 online.

Any new suggestions as to what's currently out on the market now?  I'm looking for a pair that you can not just wear out to the course but wear to work as well since living in Minnesota having an extra layer of warmth in the winter time over traditional khaki's is always a huge plus.  I have the UA Storm that I found at GolfGalaxy that were previously mentioned in this post last year and they work great, but it'd be nice to be able to rotate more than 2 pairs of pants throughout the week during the winter time.

home0006 -- there's a new UA outlet store in Eagan (@TwinCities Premium Outlet Mall); you might find some good deals there on black Friday if you have time to get there and can stand the crowds...

The Under Armour cold weather golf pants are so worth every cent you spend on them. They are the only pants I can wear below 50 degrees. You should be able to find them at an Under Armour outlet for around $40. I bought mine on clearance for $35.

I wear my rain pants over my normal ones. That generally keeps me warm and dry enough where my pants are the least of my worries. To be honest though, the coldest weather I've played in was probably high 40's during a morning tee time in late winter/early spring this year

I also suggest wearing base layers. I have compression shorts on even in the summer and I'll use knee-high compression socks unless I'm wearing golf shorts. I'm looking to buy some leggings at some point, too.

The Adidas Fall Weight pants are great. Very warm and have a good weight to them without being snow pants. I even wear mine in the golf shop sometimes without them feeling too hot. Check them out

I go with pretty much the same pants but add a light insulating base layer (aka long underwear). If it's windy or rainy I add on my FootJoy Tour Rain Pants.

Thanks for the advice.  I'm going to see if I can find the UA at the outlet store, online seems to tough since it seems as if they're all sold out of my size.

I picked up some plaid khakis pants from the GAP and those have been very solid pants for the cold.

Also, just get a good pair of gortex pants and they will protect from any type of weather.

For me, nothing works better than my softshell pants.  I have Mnt Hardwear Sarpa pants and TNF summit series ss pants, both are fantastic for cold weather golfing, and even provide some rain protection, plus they stretch.

It takes a bit of getting used to but under armour cold weather compression pants are great. Then I just wear my standard khakis or pants over them.

Nike has a Weatherized pant in their lineup and it's great for cold weather golf!  It's a thicker material than their Dri-Fit pants and has the therma-fit fleece feel inside with a good amount of stretch to them. I'm not sure if it's advertised as a feature, but they seam to be somewhat water resistant as well. They're around $80, but they're fantastic!

I play until the ground freezes up here in New England.  I rock Puma Monolites with a base layer under them.  Works great for me.  Picked them up at the Puma outlet this summer for $45.  Outlets are the way to go, best bang for the buck.
