Saw the G25 Line Today.  Driver is exactly as described above.  Matte Black/Dark Grey Finish, little cut outs on heel and toe and sole pad with weight in the back of the driver.  PING is in big letters on the bottom of the driver.  All and all it looked very good.  Was told that only a hand full of Ping staffers have even been able to hit the driver yet.  Fairways have same look and hybrids are more like the i20 line with the external sole pad and weight. Now for the irons...a big change.  Stabilzer bar across the back cavity from heel to toe.  No more large CTP in the back of the cavity, thinner top line and sole.  The way it was described was larger sole, lower center of gravity in long irons, thinner sole and highter COG on the short irons.  A very good change for the G line.  New putters have some magical new insert in them that the rep said gave you consistent distance control on off center hits with the putter....looked pretty interesting...cant wait to try.  Was told to be on the look out for them in Hawaii when the pgatour kicks off next year.  Hope this answered some questions.

Is there a ferrule on the irons? Thanks.
Not ferrules , again !!! :taunt: :taunt: :scare2: :scare2:

I'm actually a little disappointed in Ping's decision to thin out the topline and sole on the upcoming G25 irons. I think the G15 and 20 irons were brilliant for what they were. If you want thinner, that's the I-series- why blur the line between the G series and I series?
Plus, if they have killed off the K series, where is there SGI segment of the line?

They should be able to keep the CG low, and thin the sole some at the same time.  Lots of people around here won't even give the G-series irons a chance because they think the sole is too wide.

What I'd like to know is if the irons incorporate spring face technology?  Many of the state of the art GI irons do these days.

It has got to the point where it's a little too much, and it has an effect on versatility.  And like the above poster said, you can still have low CoG, and perimeter weighting without such a huge sole...

I think the K series didn't sell as well because there was too much overlap between the K and G series.  And it seems to me that the G is their SGI line.

I have heard the Anser and G25 will use the same sleeve so you should be able to swap shafts between heads.

This would make the most sense.

If PING took this long to develop one adjustability system, why change it up for the second product release?

I do think we're all better off with the ability to use one adapter for manufacturer.  Could you imagine if the OEMS went the way of Apple and changed their one adapter just to sell more in the next product cycle?

This meme needs to die. I have a cable left over from my 2002 iPod that will work for data transfer with my iPhone 4S. Sure it won't charge the phone, but I can sync with it. Same connector for ten years. In my experience IBM is far more guilty of what you're saying here. It's called a "connector conspiracy" and it's as old as computing. DEC did it, IBM does it, Dell does it. At least Apple doesn't do it as often.

Any current word on g25 irons having the ferule? I owned a G20 3iron for awhile but could never really figure out how to align it with so much offset and such a mega-sole. For me, the ferule is more than prettiness, it helps me align the hosel/leading edge when dealing with a lot of offset.

I'm hoping that PING releases a non-offset draw version of the G25 driver-- to replace the k15 of course. I'm surprised about people saying k15 didn't sell very well as I know a few guys with the fairways, and a few more with the driver (including me); also lots of love on the Lpga and even Calc on the champions tour. I agree the k15 irons were overpriced/engineered and that the G-series irons are as forgiving as it gets, but I can't help but think PING will eventually accommodate K15 loyalists in the driver/woods category-- hopefully without a visible weight pad.

With the Anser line now in full bloom I'm beginning to wonder where
it's supposed to fit in. Other than the forged irons what's the point of
the Anser line? Once the G25 driver/woods come out the Anser line
is going to fade quickly.

Ping should rename the i series driver/woods to s series which it
more corresponds to and rename the Anser series driver/woods to
i series which it more corresponds to and be done with it. Have 3
distinct lines people can understand. Then offer a forged blade it
can name Anser if it wishes and all will be happy.

Thank you very much.

Wonder why the fairways are not adjustable. Curious to see the shaft options. Real shafts?
