Hip, great idea. Was a blast at Doral with the 6/7 of us. Doing it again... could almost be annually. :)

Gives us up here in the snow belt something to look forward to!

I love this idea, but may have issues getting off from work.  Will we be able to have the option of just coming down for a day or two?

We need to have this at a nice resort, hopefully we could all get some major price breaks for the room and all.

Barefoot Resort is awesome.  4 great courses and fantastic accommodations.   Someone mentioned Legends it's a pretty good setup as well.  With either of them you wouldn't have to leave the resort after arriving.  Well except for any nighttime activities.

Sounds like a terrific idea. Different courses all in the same location.

The sooner the better on a date that way I can plan it. With 3 kids the more notice I can give the ball and chain the better for me! I would love to go to a Gathering of WRX!

I picked March. I can leave Louisiana on a Wednesday and playing Friday and Saturday and drive on home Sunday. Might cold make it a family trip

I wish there could be one on each coast or near each coast to try and bring everyone together.  Going from coast to coast for a tournament is tough on a lot of us with families.  Just a thought if it could happen.

Ok, I'm with the west coast guys too only because Carlsbad is such a mecca for all of us.  As far as timing?  That depends when the new stuff is released in Spring and will I have it in time for the first tee time?  I'm okay with cutting it close, I mean, c'mon, we've all walked to the tee taking plastic off the head and peeling price tags off at one point or another...

Sorry, but talking Myrtle at the moment.

It's great to say 'Let's do it here' but there are logistics at play.  Looking at somewhere to handle 200-300 golfers at a time.

BUT, this is step 1.  Hopefully more to follow after this one.

Hip, any idea on when dates will be released?  I want to be sure that I can attend and want to submit the time to my boss?  That is a busy time if the year for me at work so the sooner the better.  Thanks!

Not a problem.  Wasn't sure how close you were to finalizing a location.   Obviously, I'm being selfish and looking to minimize cost but I'd still be way interested wherever it ends up being.

Mike....I'm all for an East Coast location for selfish reasons.  That said if it were to ever take place out west Vegas...would be near the top of my list.   Can you imagine all the stories that would come out of a Wrx event at Vegas.

I can see some of the threads now:
  • That Guy at the Craps Table
  • Who hits a 19 in Black Jack?
  • What's the better odds....slots or roulette?
  • How much do you tip the dealer after a big win?
yes...a Wrx outing in Vegas...is appealing on so many levels !!   But I'm glad Myrtle is the first one.

Carolina golfer 2,

I hear ya!  Yeah, I'm hoping that this inaugural one is a hit so we can look at rotating around the country.  It would be awesome and a great excuse to see some courses in other states that I'd otherwise have no legit reason to try.
