Anyone see the "meet the players" preview show that played tonight? What do you think about this crop? Seems like a bunch of guys can play and a couple had some pretty good success on mini-tours. Though I already miss the "scenery" of last season.

I found that interesting too. I even remember seeing that warehouse trick chip shots video (into the shoe) on Youtube or on here before.

Liam.....whoa pal.  You need to check yourself, before you wreck yourself.  What a d-bag loser, and this is not an act.  He makes Don Donatello mild.

Derek Bohlen - nice guy, pretty wife, no weird quirks.  Down to earth, so go Derek, please win.

We also have a maybe rehabbed, drug addict, slurrred voice guy, a popped collar guy with an earring, a guy from jersey with a head bobble thing, a try hard Thai golfer, and a former prodigy that hit a wall and a two quiet southern boys where one is aloof and the other is the equivalent of the quarterback from Friday Night Lights the Movie.  Speaking of movies, Crocodile Dundee is here.  There's also a sasquatch on the show, which is totally racist.  And another sasquatch who plays hockey and has a temper, big surprise.

This should be a good season.

I'll hold my opinions until a little later in the competition.  I absolutely couldn't stand Tommy 2 gloves when he competed, thought his swing sucked.  However, I was wrong about him and since he joined the
tour he is one of my favorites.  Kind of an everymans gamer.

I use to see Isaac all over Folsom out and about and never even knew he played golf! Since the show a few locals I know that have played comps with him say he is long as can be with great touch around the greens.  What a wierd twist that he's on Big Break.

It's hard to think about companies putting some of these guys on their staff even with some TV success. Some of them seem like they just don't really line up with any company image.

Or am I wrong? Seems like some of the guys could play but maybe aren't marketable, and aren't great enough to overcome it. Not all, but some.

I think you'll see some good golf...maybe best overall talent as a group that the show has ever had.

Could have just been specialty shots but thought I saw a lot of 10 finger grippers...

One of the guys supposedly was an athlete from my alma mater and is about my age...it was a smaller school and I have never heard of him???

I watched the intros for about 20 minutes and couldn't find many guys to root for.  I guess they do that for the ratings or something but it doesn't appeal to me.  For example, the one guy who said something like "once I get on the golf course, everyone is my enemy".

my own opinion but i think producers put way too much emphasis on finding characters rather than guys who have had some success and are 'normal'. i think the whole idea about driving ratings and needing those guys to root against is overdone. as long as everyone on the show has legitimate golf skill i'm somewhat ok with the picks, but if a few of these guys who already seem to be the typical "db" who is just their to grab some attention i think it brings the show down. With the randomness of the events and luck of the draw style contests i hate seeing guys with less talent get kicked off. i don't need the crazy characters to keep watching.

Its almost as if if you don't have a backstory you haven't got a shot on the show no matter your talent. this year you have the southern hillbillies, loudmouth from jersey, recovering addict, shoe company owner, etc. one of the previous contestants tweeted about future tryouts and said best way to get on the show was be loud and top your first three shots. seems about right.

It's almost like pro wrestling, where you have good guys and bad guys .  Babyfaces and heels, for the advanced WWE fan.  But it's amazing to see that guys are dressing like arses, and it's not a trend on tour for the most part.  Sure fowler and poulter, but the majority of the guys on tour aren't that loud.  This Loudmouth Golf is dumb.  It's some Caddyshack revival joke, with dash of Duffy Waldorfs wardrobe, and Fehertys sarcasm.   Is it a knock on the puma wannabes, eventhough Puma has some nice stuff, they get a little bright with their coloring.

What was the name of the kid who was boo hooing about how he would be on the Tour if he had been a trust fund baby "like these other guys."

I hope he goes home first, and with some sort of debilitating injury. He's insufferable.

I you don't have a mix of personalities, with people to root for and against then there is no drama to
watch.  There has to be a catalyst.  It is only partly about giving someone a  break, it is about
entertainment and getting an audience.

I'll wait to see a couple of shows before I pick my favorite.

cmherrbach:  I'll bet $5.00 that Sanchez does not win the Big Break.  I am serious.  Just looking for
a reason to watch all the shows.  Who knows I may end up rooting for Sanchez.  Just fun.
