The only football that goes in front of golf is college football. Auburn football to be more exact. Not a huge fan of NFL. War eagle!

It doesn't cut into golf time, during football season I go to the golf course a lot earlier.

I'm just happy the bears play Monday night as I'm going Sunday to the Ryder Cup.

THAT, for me, would have been a tough decision...

Good move by the NFL.  Gotta believe it was no accident.

when you're from Houston like me, you have very little time on Sunday for anything but watching the #1 team in the NFL.

how is a team that's 3-1   #1  over any team that's 4-0?

Because no team is going to go undefeated and the Falcons havent translated their season sucess to anything in the post season................if 4-0 is mandatory Im going Texans or Cards right now....Defense wins championships.

That's why they play the games.

Regardless, there's no way a team with a 75% winning percentage is #1 over a team with 100% winning percentage.  I may not be a mathematician but I know that s***

I was just kidding dude.  Relax....

But, fwiw records right now dont really indicate best teams.  IMO there are more than a few 3-1 teams and possily a few 2-2 teams that are better teams than one if not two of the unbeatens right now.  We shall see how it plays out.

this is not the response of someone who is "just kidding." stop being a heel and then trying to play it off like a joke when you're beat.

the statement was never "who's better." the statement was "they're #1." it was always asinine to say that a team with a worse record is "#1." you continue to say "it's just a joke" while then following up with justifications for why you said it. if it was a "joke," you'd let it go and quit trying to justify what you said.

oh, btw, i was only being sarcastic. i guess you can't discern that. [/sarcasm]

I love golf but I love football more. So when it's football season, my golf game unfortunately takes a back seat.

I'm a Chiefs season ticket holder and haven't missed a home game since I started going in 2002. I wouldn't miss a Chiefs game for golf no matter how bad they are. I try to squeeze in a round on Saturday morning though. I have been a die hard fan since I was around 10 years old...about 15 years before I picked up a golf club.

if that was the case the bears would have tons of rings, defense wins games but it doesnt win chanpionships

If it wasnt the case, the Packers or Patriots would have ran away with a title last year.  Last place defenses hold back even the most prolific offenses.
Obviously it has to be a mix and you have to be able to score some points, but its better to have a stout D and mediocre O then high powered Offense and no Defense.

I wouldnt worry onyx, I think at the end of the day the Texans and a few others are still the top ranks.  You guys have a good division so barring something crazy, you should be set.  Its a long season and alot can change, but having the best record through 6 games last time I checked doesnt win or prove  anything.

Some teams have harder schedules than others, and a loss(es) arent that big of a deal.  Right now all that matters is making the playoffs.  From there everybody is 0-0.  Look at the Giants last year, doesnt matter what your record is.

generally agree, except that teams that are 6-0 almost invariably make the playoffs. only two teams in the last 30 years have gone 5-0 and missed the playoffs. you've got to get to the playoffs before you  can do anything with it.

and, like i said before, it's never been about what matters, or who's best, or what they might win. it's always been about who's #1. Falcons--the only undefeated team after week 6. #1. Period.

The Giants went what, 9-7 last year and look where they ended up.

I'm not too worried about a 5-1 start. With the Ravens coming to town this week without Ray Lewis and Ladarius Webb, we should be good to go.

Yeah I hear you.  Clearly winning more games will help you get into the playoffs and starting strong will help, but with the Bucs, Panthers and Saints I would hope you dontt have too much trouble winning that division.

But like I said, if being a top the power rankings is a big thing by all means.  While they have the best record in the league, I dont think that automatically makes them the best team...but thats just me.  They have had a pretty easy go to start the season, so once stiffer competition rolls around we can get a better gauge.

Long season though boys.
