Where is everyone?  Not one ball post today.  Is everyone on the course, or at a bar in front of a TV watching the number one sport in the U.S.?  I got 9 holes in this morning, but it's football the rest of the day (BMW is on the DVR).

Does the start of football cut into anyone's golf?

it is going to be another long season for the colts. Golf might be a better option on sundays if i don't want to be angry and depressed come monday.

I played 18 today ... Fought the wind all day and ended up with an 88  ... Pittsburgh doesn't play until tonight, and there away this week or else I'd be at the game!

Football cuts into my golf some because my life revolves around the Packers' schedule.  It has gotten better though since I moved to Ohio.  I used to watch the Lions, Bears or Vikings games to see how the rest of the division was doing but now that I live in Ohio and the Browns are on, I dont care so it gives me a small window in which I can golf before or after the game.

The Rams keep finding new ways to break my heart...   But yeah, football definitely cuts into golf.

Used to love football but that was before I was introduced to golf back in 2004. Golf wins - hands down.

Football kills my golf season... Buckeyes all day on Saturday and then NFL all day sunday.... Mounted a 40 in next to my 55 in in my man cave... Pair that with Sunday ticket and it's game over... I did turn on the second 9 of the BMW on one tv today

I love this time of year, not as many people at the course.  Golf for me until the snow flies!

Football kills sunday golf for me. Living on the west coast games start at ten am. Maybe once the season gets going and the niners have a late game I might sneak in a round.

Football season is a godsend.  Better deals, cooler weather, less people on the course.  I fall asleep watching football anyways unless its the playoffs.  College is only good for rivalry games. (UNC fan explains that).

i remember when i lived in massachusetts i used to hate golf season. during the week, there was a league every night so you couldn't get on any of hte local munis after work. the weekends were packed with people trying to enjoy the good weather. no way you got in under 4.5 hours at any local course.

...

and then football season started, and golf was glorious again.

Fall is my favorite time to golf. With everyone wrapped up in football and their fantasy leagues, the golf courses are wide open. You easily play 36 holes in a little over 4 hours.

I'm glad I'm one of the very few people in Texas that is not a fan of football in any capacity. Just when the weather starts to get nice after the sweltering summers down here, the courses empty on the weekends thanks to football season. If I have enough spare time to sit on my couch for hours at a time to watch a bunch of sweaty men wrestle in pads, I'd rather take that time to get outdoors and enjoy a quiet round of golf. I will never even attempt to understand the obsession people have with football, because quite frankly, I couldn't possible care less. I grew up playing it, and I enjoyed playing it, but I have never been one to opt for couch time when there is something else I could do that involves getting out of the house and not being sedentary for hours on end.

I'm a Raiders fan but live on the East Coast. I should probably start taking advantage of them not playing until 4 most weeks.

Why would anyone choose to sit inside and watch tv instead of playing golf?

Golf usually has priority over football and that's why I play most of my golf on Wednesday and Friday/Saturday. Which most of the time leaves me Saturdays for college ball.

Sigh, I know golf season is winding down when football season starts.  Golf is #1 for me but I still love my football.

Peyton looked REALLY good.

Golf wins for me, except my son's football games.
I also prefer to play golf, than to watch it during the day.
