Wasn't my worst score by far, but I shot an 80 while hitting 14 of 18 greens, and playing a left handed shot with a right handed club under sage brush. Best ball striking I've ever done in my life, and just horrifically bad putting. In my defense they had just plugged and sanded the greens and I had a rooster tail coming off my ball.

Today was horrible, I went to Trails of Frisco Course in Frisco, Texas, the weather was okay minus the 30+ winds. It was brutal, I hit my 3 wood on one whole.. Usually my 3 wood goes about 240ish.. It couldn't have gone more than 100-150 yards with the wind hitting it.. It was horrible.. Don't let you ball get up in the air, the wind takes it and throws it out of bounds.. I shot in the 100-110ish which is horrible as I am usually low 80s.

On a side note (somewhat) that course is set up stupid, a bunch of holes are set up right around the courses driving range, and the driving range uses both yellow and white balls... So after you tee off and you go to find your ball, there's balls everywhere on your fairway from the driving range!!! You don't have time to figure out which one was yours so you just drop.. Piss poor planning on whoever decided to set that up!

probably not worst ever, but shot a 99(usually shoot 80's) on my home course today.  Had a decent round going into the 9, I then did a Kevin Na.  I hit the ball in the creek 4 times from 100 yrds out, posting a 14 on the 9th.

2 index; shot 88 a few weeks ago in tournament course conditions.

Bounced back the next round to shoot 75.

I feel you man, it happens... sigh

111 in my first tournament. Had over 40 putts and 6 penalty strokes. Before the round began I got drilled in the back in the practice range then blew open a blister on my right hand which made it almost impossible to grip the clubs right.

But all excuses aside, worst round ever.

probably something along the lines of 120. so long as i hit one great shot or sink a monster putt i usually leave the course thinking its not been a complete waste of time.

Any one else discouraged by the extreme lack of actual bad numbers on here?  I thought i just had a bad round now I am convinced I just suck.

Went from 73 to 85 recently.  I was reminded that rounds like that suggest character development. ;)

it's all relative. I've shot worse then 88 before obviously, when i started playing or played sparingly. But i've probably never felt worse then i did after my round last september. I can't believe i'm about to play my first round of 2013 and this thread still survives! Hopefully i'll play better in competition this year

I can't remember my score, but I do remember going through a complete dozen brand new Top Flite Magnas at a golf tournament on an executive course in the late 90s.  Putter was literally the only club I wasn't afraid to hit.  Shanks, water, OBs, woods, lost balls.  It was my most painful and frustrating round.  Probably the only time I've ever actually disliked golf.

I've shot a 96 and a 94 in my last two rounds and I am PUMPED!  I only started seriously playing 2 months ago, and have gone from a 120 to a 94.
