Well that will just make it even longer till we get one down in south jersey!! Real shame too, in the shore area there literally is no golf stores(except Dicks and SA). Zero. There was a Golf USA but it was soooo poorly run and advertised that they went under.

I am happy that more stores are coming to the area, however that's a terrible location for it. Golf Galaxy has the best spot being the first stop, then Golf Smith and Dick's Sporting Goods, and now this one is going to be the last stop if one wants to go there. All within 2 minutes from each other.

It's just the way RT-17 traffic flows. There is no way to get to the other direction without going much further down so anyone coming that direction to any of the stores would always make those stops in order so we don't have to make a huge circle to back track. I usually can't even make it to Golf Smith....

just like mister2cool said, i hate getting on route 17 because of the traffic around the route 4 intersection and not enough u-turns routes.
sometimes, i have to get off at midland ave and get to route 4 via paramus rd.  it's the long way but sure beats the sometimes-ridiculous route 17 traffic.

Rt 17 is a drag on a Saturday and this location is a bit off the beaten path.  It will be 57,000 square feet.  Sense trouble for Golfsmith.

I honestly don't think there's enough volume in this area to support 4 golf stores... Golf Galaxy, GolfSmith, Dick's and now PGA Superstore. GG is the smallest and I have never seen it get really busy, so I am not sure how PGA Superstore is going to make all that space worthawhile.

I would have thought Westchester or LI would have been a better spot if you were going to put one in the tri state area.

Rte 17 is not fun to drive on- I agree with that.

Agreed on this. Amazing they're got four stores up in Paramus and nothing down in Monmouth. I'm shocked no one's tried to put a big shop into Eatontown, it's right off 18, the Parkway, etc. There used to be a nice shop and driving range on 35 but it's been years since they close (Mr. B's I think was the name). Closest golf store now is Woodbridge, which is a haul. Anyone know a local place?

I saw the sign of PGA Tour Super Store on Rt 17. I tried to approach the building, but couldn't go due to pylons in the parking lot.
There was no opening date information, but the building inside was illuminated and furnished.
I think the opening will be delayed, becasue of one week long power outage by Sandy.

Perhaps the TV isn't showing what Sandy has left behind... and some of that is the very boardwalk and businesses that those fist pumping idiots visited... its just not necessary especially to this topic about a store in Northern NJ..... TASTELESS

RJRJRJ, I'll just say that if you mocked New Orleans a week after Hurricane Katrina, it would probably be considered insensitive, and it is no different now with Sandy and NY/NJ.

Mr. Vinny from the show is actually from Staten Island, NY, which was devastated by Sandy.  The locale of the show in Seaside Heights is pretty much wiped out.  All of our lives in NY/NJ have been hugely impacted the past couple of weeks.  I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but I think that is where AP2 is coming from.

The store is open now...they have some cool deals I think the Taylor Made DJ hat is $4.97 and some other club specials...Grand Opening is tomorrow at 9am but they already did a soft opening

Golfsmith and Golf Galaxy (even that one) are a joke compared to the PGA Tour SS
Golf Galaxy is going to wind up doing something to compete in that area....possibly finding a larger location and it wouldn't shock me to see the Golfsmith there close unless they figure out a way to sell other stuff other than Lync and Snake Eyes.
