Just curious to see, what was the longest hole out you've had since you been playing. I was playing Spring Lake out on Eastern Long Island. 4th hole is a dogleg right par 5. 3 wood off the tee, have 228 left to the hole. The green is guarded buy a huge over hanging tree. The shot calls for a very high ball flight, or a decent fade. I was experimenting with clubs at this point, and had a Taylormade r7 7 wood in the bag. My playing partner, who happens to be a real good friend of mine, and the Assistant Pro, blocked his drive, and was playing up the neighboring hole's fairway. He told me the green was clear, so here I am, 228 yards, hitting a 7 wood with a nice high fade. Once I made contact and saw the ball flight, I knew I hit it right on the button. About 10 seconds later, I hear my buddy screaming like a mad man. I thought he made a mistake, and the green wasn't clear. I drive the cart up to hear him telling me that was the craziest shot he has seen blah blah blah etc. I'll take a 2 on a par 5 any day of the week
Ended up shooting 70 that day, (-2). Let's hear your stories!
