Just curious to see, what was the longest hole out you've had since you been playing.  I was playing Spring Lake out on Eastern Long Island.  4th hole is a dogleg right par 5.  3 wood off the tee, have 228 left to the hole. The green is guarded buy a huge over hanging tree.  The shot calls for a very high ball flight, or a decent fade.  I was experimenting with clubs at this point, and had a Taylormade r7 7 wood in the bag. My playing partner, who happens to be a real good friend of mine, and the Assistant Pro, blocked his drive, and was playing up the neighboring hole's fairway.  He told me the green was clear, so here I am, 228 yards, hitting a 7 wood with a nice high fade.  Once I made contact and saw the ball flight, I knew I hit it right on the button. About 10 seconds later, I hear my buddy screaming like a mad man.  I thought he made a mistake, and the green wasn't clear.  I drive the cart up to hear him telling me that was the craziest shot he has seen blah blah blah etc.  I'll take a 2 on a par 5 any day of the week :)  Ended up shooting 70 that day, (-2).   Let's hear your stories!

About 50 feet out, probably. At the time I couldn't hit a short wedge shot to save my life and I had a heavy putter, a Dunlop mallet. I said what the heck, grabbed the putter and smacked the ball hard. It cleared the grass, hit the fringe, got a little bounce forward and rolled right into the hole.

I carried that putter along with my usual putter for at least 3 years, thinking I might need it for that shot again someday, but I never used it again.

About 240y on the par 5 7th at St Omer, during a pro-am.

Wish I could say it was for an albatross, but unfortunately it was preceded by a hack out of the rough following an errant tee shot.

I also wish I could say I went for the flag, but I pulled it. The pin was in the back right corner, with the right side of the green protected by a lake.

A 30 yard chip. It was fun to watch as it took a massive break on the green.

Holed out a 5 iron from about 180 for eagle last year... hit an awful drive on a par 5, had to chip out of a terrible lie (with the wrong club in my hand), and then knocked it in the hole for eagle.    It was the worst of times, it was the best of times.

Holed out on a par 5 from a little over 260 yards for a 2 a few years ago, think it had a big first bounce and must of hit the pin perfect because the green can be hard to hold with anything more than a wedge

77yd with my 58* wedge, pin was on the back (highest) tier of a three tiered green, flew it 76 yards and it hopped in.  First time i had ever taken a full wedge swing.

Just recently happened, a pitch from 36 yards with my gap wedge, slight elevated green saw the top of the ball rolling toward the flag then just vanish. Was also my first eagle. Great feeling

About three summers ago, I holed out from 178 yards, my first ever par 4 eagle.

Please indulge me as I tell my tale of glory.

Blackstone CC, Peoria AZ, 404 yard par 4 fourth hole.  Dogleg right around a pond.  Kidney shaped green surrounded by containment mounding, fronted by a mogul and bunker.  The right-most forward lobe of the green was at the bottom of an approximate 4' elevation drop from the main part of the green and coming down to the edge of the pond.  This is where the pin was located.

Graphic of the hole:

A weak fade from the tee (steered away from the hazard) left me with 178 to the middle and this view:

Fearing the long iron shot over the water to the small spit of green where the pin was located, I chose a 4 hybrid and decided to aim a little left of the bunker with a fade.  Way more club than needed but I figured the slope behind the green would catch it.  The shot went off as planned, and the ball carried the bunker and disappeared.  We watched as the ball came rolling back into view, caught the slope and came right down toward the hole.  But no one saw it go in.

We get to the green and don't see my ball.  I thought "crap, it rolled off into the water..."   I was looking along the edge of the pond when my fellow competitor said "here it is! In the hole!"

Woot!

113 at the 6th hole of the norman course at lansdowne resort. Nice easy pitching wedge that I fed down one of the bowls of the green and it dissappeared into the cup. Followed that up with a 9 iron to 6 inches on the next hole and felt like the king of golf for one brief moment

139 yard ace.  From the fairway, none longer than a 40-50 yard pitch.

Sunday, however, I holed out from about 20 yards.  I'm playing with my Dad, and I'm 2 ahead.  We come to the 17th hole, a 187 yard par 3.  He sticks it to about 18 feet.  I take 4 iron into a slight breeze, try to play a cut, but wipe it right (front left pin).  I was on a hill towards the back of the green, just above, and behind, a large bunker.  Looking at a pitch shot, from an elevated position, over a bunker, to a green sloping away and to the left, I thought it would be a great shot to get within 5-8 feet.  I flop it over the bunker, just onto the green, it releases and takes the break perfectly.  That ball rolled in with better speed than any putt I had hit that day.  Dad misses his birdie put and taps in for par.  We get to the cart and all he can say is "That's not fair."  LOL... can't let the old man beat me, right?  That was probably a more memorable hole-out than any other (except for the ace).  I went on to birdie the last... he doubled.  I love our little competitive rounds!

Cheers

2003 Qualifier for the South Carolina Open at the old Bay Tree Gold Course....Par 5 on the back, like 550 dogleg left....Hit driver through the dogleg to be stymied against a pine tree....Banked it off of the tree to get it in the right hand rough...Was 231 and tried to hit a trap 3 iron that felt a touch thin....Had a couple of buddies on the next tee that saw it go in...They went nuts, thinking it was a deuce...Sadly a 3, but my longest one by 75 yards or so...Awesome feeling...

147 from the fairway on the 443 yd Par 4 18th hole and my local course.

I was playing a Nassau with a buddy of mine and I won the front 9 by 1 stroke and I was down by 3 on the back 9 going into 18 so he was primed to take my money.  He hits a decent drive.  I top my drive and it goes about 100 yards... I whip out my 3w and slice it toward the OB but it hits a tree and bounces into the fairway 147 out.  My buddy hits his second short of the green.  The flag is tucked back right over a bunker and I hit my 9i right on the flag but cant see where it landed since its behind the bunker. We get up to the green and we can't find the ball. My buddy is saying I hit it too far and into the parking lot... we argue for a few seconds and I check the hole and its in there for birdie! He duffs his chip and 3 putts for double so we tie on the back and I win the overall! hahaha!

1st hole, 6 iron 185 yards.  I have no idea how I was that far from the hole to begin with, I must have popped up a 200 yard 5-wood off the tee or something.  Then I holed out, but never saw it go in as the green is somewhat elevated.

Longest was about 50 yards, I pounded a good drive and then swished a lob wedge.  Hit the inside of the hole between the flag and the edge and stayed in.  I chipped a few 20 footers as well.

I've had three double eagles (would trade them all for my first ace!): 205ish with a 4 iron, 135 with a PW (both on the same hole, a double dogleg where you can drive both corners - I've had less than 100 into that green with the right wind), and 220ish uphill with a 4W.

195 yard hole'n one, and 175 yard hole out on par 4 for eagle.   With Hogan 3 wood (persimmon)  I hit the flag stick from 245 out on a par 5, and ended up with a 6" tap in for eagle.   On our local 9 hole course, I've had eagle's on 5 different holes plus the hole'n one... :D

Now I can't hit a driver 245 yards...
