Titleist has been field testing golf balls with their staff players since about Quail Hollow.

Below are a couple of photos but they are not ready to pass out any info on the ball or it's specs/playing characteristics.

Let me take a guess, it is round, has dimples, and is white.

What different playing characteristics could it possibly have?  They have pretty much covered all possible characteristics over the past 10 years with all of the Pro V1 models.  Don't get me wrong, it is a good ball, but I can't play either the X or the regular Pro V1.  Way too much loss of distance and way too much spin.  Just like with drivers, I think golfballs are about to hit the wall and not be able to get much better.

Still will be interesting to see what is new and different.

Interesting.

I'm interested to see what they could improve on. The Pro V1 is a damn good ball.

I think eventually they are going to merge V1 and V1X into one ball like Callaway did with the iS and iZ into the Hex black. Maybe Titleist has a 5 piece? 6 piece? 12 piece?

my guess is it will be longer off the driver yet have more spin with the short irons :-)  Isn't that what every ball company says?  I would love to see ball test done with driver, long irons, mid irons, and short irons at swing speeds of 90mph, 100mph, 110mph, and 120mph

The only way I'll even pick up a sleeve to test is if I see the pro's drop their vintage prov's for the new coconuts.

No they don't.  Not even close.  I'm talking independent Robot testing at varying club head speeds to truly determine how each ball performs to each category of golfer.

Woohoo! New ProV1X comes out. Fortunately I was on the test panel for the last ball, and I received a sleeve of balls just like this.

As long as strong sales continue, I do not see Titleist making any drastic changes to the ProV1 line (including name changes or dropping a model).

Will it come in yellow, orange, pink, and white?

<<<<<------Will it be able to do that?

The dimples in the picture look shallower than previous models but it may be the camera angle

what?  no no no.  It's longer off the driver and spins more off of the short irons. You just watch.

Great idea.  Hopefully this is the way Golf Ball data will be displayed in the future..  Data like this would help golfers big time.
