Hello Gentlemen (and Ladies)!
I am the proud owner of TWO sets of my all-time favorite iron - Ben Hogan Director (1974) with Apex 3 shafts. The Directors bring me focus, accuracy, and JOY to my game. BTW, 1974 was a seminal year in my ninth year of existence. So, the Directors have become my ONLY set of irons for the indefinite future (perhaps forever). I didn't start playing golf till I was 23 in 1988 and after years of GI iron propaganda and tribulation, I "discovered" the Holy Grail of golf tools, vintage forged irons. With the economy the way it's been, I've been happily playing with these irons with their original shifts. Now, if you are still with me, here is my question: does the DG S300 compare favorably to the Apex 3 shaft? I seem to hit both shafts equally, but I wonder how the old Director heads would fair with the new DG S300 shafts. Yes, I'm ready to send a set to Iron Factory for a complete rebuild. Does anyone have a thought? Please Help!
