I know what I'm about to state goes against the norm, however if you install a .580" grip and a .600" grip on identical .600" shafts the .600" grip will feel bigger and the .580" will feel slightly smaller and firmer. Just my experiences.

To answer the OP question , for every layer of standard 2" inch grip tape the thickness is usually equated to 1/64th . So if you have .60 to a .58 grip that would equal + 1/32nd. So a .60 to .60 grip would need 2 layers of tape to get to +1/32nd .
