It is not that your opinion differs from mine as I stated that many others do differ from mine and I have no problem with differing opinions,
but to not want to identify the best player as the Clubs Champion Golfer for the year is utter and absolute nonsense.

Bias and predjudice as in just our predetermined group is where we want our Club Champ to come from.

Narrowsightedness as in what would that be teaching the juniors, which is where their future members will be coming from although if they are treated like second class citizens by the current membership, then why would they want to contribute their hard earned money in the future to such a club.

I never stated anything about your level of intelligence or your capability of being able to have a thought process, just that your thought process on this would lead you  to such a conclusion.

Our current club champion that just won it about a month ago has won it the last four years in a row.  He just graduated high school this year.  He won it as a freshman in high school.  If he wasn't allowed in it, for the person who won it to call themselves the top player in the club would be a lie.  So let them in, it shouldn't even be a second thought.

Club championship is for adult members. Junior championship is for their children.

My club doesn't have a junior championship. Sounds like a lame excuse anyway. The club championship is to determine the top player in the club. If you don't let the actual top player in the club in the tournament you're a joke anyway.

So how does a 15 year old play in apro  tour event? And win!
Or 16 yo win a pro tennis championship?

It sure sounds like a double standard to me, and seems to relegate most local club championships to the insignificant file.

As a junior i feel that if we can compete we should be allowed to play

my club has a junior championship, and anyone who shoots the average or below the average score of last years club champs qualifies for the club champs

My club growing up had no age restrictions.  You had to be a member, which included family memberships, and pay your entry fee.   I played several times and they were always glad to take my entry fee.  The only time I heard any grumbling was when before my senior year in high school I finished third gross and first net with a handicap of six.  We crowned a gross and net champion.  To this day the only satisfaction I have over that two day event is the crying I heard from the "gentlemen" of the club when my name was called as net champion.  We can discuss the merits of having a net champion but at my old club that's how we did it and besides your name on the plaque all you received was half of the pot of entry fees.  Gross champion received two thirds of the pot and net the remaining third.

If you want to keep the juniors out then the club will have to make sure to establish requirements to keep them out.  Personally I have no problem being beat by a better player who is younger, older, female, male, or purple.  I got to see quite a few golfers this year at our high school state
Golf tournament that would have me beaten out rather quickly.  If a club championship is meant to find the best player at the club and doesn't restrict who can play how can you keep anybody out?  That's just my opinion.

We'll here's how it works at my club. Being a 17 year old I had to play in my junior club c and anyone who finished with a 2 day total of 156 or less was able to try and qualify for the men's club championship, but only in the Championship flight (5 handicap and under). Then there is a qualifying round where the top 15 players and the champion from the previous year qualify for the match play portion. I qualified for that and ended up making it to the finals which was 36 holes and lost on the 36th hole. A small group of members followed us for the final match and I don't think anyone had a problem with a junior competing. All of the members that watched said they enjoyed watching a younger member play at a high level like that. Thats just my experience showing that at my club the members are okay with juniors competing in the club championship
