a person in my neighborhood was selling zstar x in tour yellow for 20 bucks a dozen.
ive never played these before (played trispeed tour and liked them) but i remember reading about them in the past.
similar/comparable to prov1x more or less, right?
i bought 2 dozens, and now i am wondering if i should buy more and stock up.
is this a good deal?  i wont know how these play until sunday.
my all-time favorite ball is prov1x.  ive been playing the cosmetic blem ws fg tour recently and found them to be too mushy.

The ball plays well from tee to green but its something with the yellow cover that never felt right off the putter for me. It felt very clicky and I could never get a good feel on the greens. Also for comparison I was using a kombi, maybe an insert putter would soften it up.

im certain its a good deal but when something over $40 sells for half the price, i am just naturally skeptical.

Keep in mind that the Z star X is the old version of the Z star XV -- that's why they are so cheap.  The XV goes for $40-$45 in stores, but if you were to find the X in a store I don't think they would sell them for more than $25 a dozen.

You're probably paying about the going rate for new boxes of the older X.

Yeah, no.
They still sell for $34-$44 at most stores.
for $20 a doz I'd buy another 12 (all mine are gone :( )

Good deal.  Most stores dont have them anymore, so $20 is a good find.

Its a very good ball, and the yellow ones are absolutely bulletproof.  If you avoid trees and cart paths, it will look like new after an entire round.
