RTP, NC (My job) to Durham, NC (Local Golf Course)
Drive is about 15 minutes (door close to door close).
Temperature at lunch is a sunny 33°.
Picks up driver 9.5° w/ Diamana 83 Stiff
Gets range balls and heads to range in 33°
Range balls are well used.
Warm-up: Shoulder Stretches, Waist Bends, Rotator Cuff
Marker: 274 yards to yellow stake at the base of the farthest pole on the fence
Pace off 26 yards to the teeing ground set for today so tee to yellow flag - 248yds
Started off hitting hard fades but after a few swings I started producing a nice fade of about 5-10 yards
Initial launch was a bit higher than my current set up (R510 9.5° w/ Fuji 757 stiff) but the ball did not balloon. Nice arc that will provide for a decent run after hitting the turf.
The kicker, given that the yellow flag is 248 to base of the back of fence, the beat up range balls in 33° weather with about a 5 minute warm-up were hitting on average 15-30 feet high on the back fence and again the ball flight was high but penetrating so there was significant forward velocity going into netting.
Moral of the story: stay away from golf shops!
I love my R510 but you can’t question performance.
New driver to be picked up on tomorrow: Nike SQ Tour 9.5° - Diamana Blueboard - stiff
And that’s how 15 minutes changed my dreams
Please note…R510 TP soon to be added to the Classifieds…
I disagree......try a few more if your are looking for distence.....there is better out there........use a launch monitor before spending the $$$ and you will see.......
I start every year with my R510TP in the bag and then switch to something else. Last year it was an R7 and a Ping G2, but always come back to the R510. You would think that I would learn.
Selling a proven performer after one good range session with another stick is bad Ho-Mojo and you know it...
agreed......i bought a sq tour and sq but wouldn't give up my ignite 410 because it was a proven winner. still have it in the corner.
Ditto the SQ Tour. And the Ignite 410....
i think the sq tour is a longer more forgiving version of the 410
You will never give it up. I still have a collection of them sitting in my office. They are like an old dog. Always around if you need them and just can't bear to part with them.
