So i am looking to upgrade this fall from my Burner Irons to one of the selections in the poll. Ive hit both and love both set. about $150 difference as the Titleist are $1000 and the Mizuno are about $850. Ive heard tons of great things about the Mizuno clubs at the course however you see pros using the Titleist. Whats your opinion?

Ive hit the 712s and they are very good, however i play mizuno mp 59's, the two you choose are pretty similar i would go with the 69's and use the extra 150 on a lesson on how to hit them

Really need to swing them both on dirt.
I have owned both, and their turf interaction is/can be quite different.
I felt the 69's had a much better cut though the turf, where sometimes i felt like the grind on the 712's were a little clumbsy though the dirt. (why often the Titleist staffers, grind their Muscles)
The 712's have a smaller 8-PW look than the 69's, some people say the PW on the mizuno's are a little large, but that is all personal preference.

MP69 for me, prefer the feel off the face and when I tested both head to head the MP69's seem to have a better balance which resulted in better accuracy.

The difference in the two is extremely hard to notice, I would say that they are almost the exact same club (topline, sole width etc...). In my opinion its really just up to which brand you prefer and which finish you prefer (white satin or chrome). Hope you enjoy whatever you get!!

Scared to buy stuff online, so many non-legit clubs..

and i went to Golfsmith and tried the 712s and he said they do a free fitting, then went to EdwinWatts and tried the Mizuno's and he said nothing..can they fit any club?

Not much difference, pick the one you find better looking (that's a tough call), or just wait for the Miz MP-64

i hate to be this way but i feel like you have to go with a well "golf" repped manufactor like Titleist. Not to down and say Mizuno is not well repped, however golf isnt there sole sport...they make stuff for everything. i will probably go with the MB 712s

I'd go with the 712's because they're satin, but I wouldn't not choose Mizuno because they make other sports gear. They make, arguably, the finest off the rack forged irons available here in the US.

my deciding factor would be chrome vs satin if really couldn't decide... however, for me personally, once i had a taste of the newer mizuno irons i doubt i will ever use another brand. i play mp59's fwiw.

and im willing to bet the pros play titleist over mizuno because of the sponsorship $$$$.

you'll probably be happy either way. But i would go with the mizunos.

Sorry but this could not be any more incorrect.  That's like saying Wilson is not a well "repped" tennis company because they also do baseball and golf and basketball.  Each company has a completely SEPARATE division based on each sport.  Wilson golf is not at all linked to Wilson tennis, etc.

I have played both Titleist and now Mizuno and my only regret was not trying Mizuno earlier.  Feel is a personal thing but the above quote this is just bad advice...

This may be one of the more unusual comments I've read on WRX in a while. Mizuno is probably the best large form forged iron producer of the last 25 years. Tiger's irons for a good decade were based off his MP-14s. Nick Price once said if sponsors didn't give away clubs every pro would play Mizuno. Yes, they produce other items for other sports. Doesn't preclude golfing excellence.

You can't go wrong.  Love both - chose Mizuno MP-69's because Titleist cannot achieve D2 swing weight in 1/2" over length in the MB or CB.  In Dynamic Gold the best TItleist can do is D4.  This is fact.  Spoke with several individuals in the Titleist club dept.  AP2 can be had in D2 because they have more mass to play with. (remove)

Mizuno has light enough heads to arrive at D2 in +1/2" length.

I can kind of see what he was saying. Some people don't really associate cross-sport brands (mizuno, Nike, etc) with golf specifically, thus they assume golf isn't there area of expertise...even though it might be and is with mizuno.
Anyways, I'd go with the Mizunos. I prefer the sound and I buy into the shaped muscle back technology they offer.

Doesn't get much better than mizuno for players irons

Tell that to tiger woods, nick price, nick Faldo etc etc......

The only draw back that Ive ever heard about the Mizuno is that they are so soft that you can't tell when you hit a perfect shot or one that's a little off. You'll think your shots is going right at the flag then next thing you know it comes up 20 yards short. That's only hear say though as I've never actually hit them. Also I voted for the mizuno as well so......

I am a Titleist guy who plays a full bag of their clubs and love the 690mb's with rifle 7.0 shafts.  I had a set of 712mb heads I planned to shaft with KBS tour shafts but somebody decided breaking in my truck was a good idea and lifted them.  I must say though, I have had a couple of sets of Mizuno irons and with the exception of the Comp E-Z cb irons, I loved their irons.  I would still like to try the 712mb's but if the AP2 is any indication of how the mb's feel and perform, Im honestly not sold.  Mizuno Golf is also a great company to work with and always very helpful.  Titleist does also have some great people but I must admit I haven't been that impressed with some of the calls to their customer service line.  Before I buy any more irons or build up a set, I will wait and hit the newest offerings from Mizuno.  I'm sure they both perform well but honestly, I've tried many different models from Titleist and none compare to my custom spec 690's.  Now, my local golf shops don't carry any player irons except Mizuno and even with a federal tax id number and teaching credentials, Titleist still doesn't want to sell direct and none of the shops around here want to order custom clubs.  Mizuno on the other hand is always more than happy to help.

Good Luck with whatever you get.  Im sure both are quality clubs.
