Longish par 5, but ALL downhill.  Butter hole.  Great drive, split the fairway.  Pulled 6 iron approach, 3 yards short and 10 yards left of a front-placed pin.  Chuuunkkkked my first chip like an idiot, moved 4 feet.  Then proceeded to SKULL my next one, super hot.  Would have run 10 yards past the pin and into the opposite bunker but....IT WAS RIGHT AT THE FLAG AND...BAM!  Right in the cup for a 4.  Impressive, I know.  Ty.  Yer welcome.

That is the sign of a good golfer, minimizing mistakes.  You hit 3 bad shots out of 4 and still recorded a birdie.

I was asking.  You made a thread about making a birdie, so I asked if it was your first.

Here's how I think of it:  I've hit a lot of good golf shots in my life that turned out unlucky-- through the fairway into the rough beyond... into deep divots... off a sprinkler head and into a bunker, etc.    If occasionally I hit a terrible shot that gets a great result, then good for me!

I shot a career-best 76 back in December.   One of the holes was a par 5 where I hit a thin wedge that hit the pin and fell into the hole for eagle.   Dang right I was happy about it.

Nice birdie!

Yes,it will still be a circle on the score card. In baseball a texas leaguer blooper reads as a single in the boxscore! (screaming line drive when recounting story)!

My first birdie ever was a chip-in from way short at par 3.  My first eagle was a holeout from 100.

Gotta take em as they come.
