I have to say I am super annoyed with PING and the Anser pricing, and yes I am a PING loyalist who has even done reviews for their equipment.

I've read through this entire thread and the members that presented the information stated time and time again that there is "NO upcharge for shafts other than PXi". This is incorrect. I was getting ready to order a set and wanted to confirm the no upcharge pricing. The explanation I got from Ping consumer relations was "there is no upcharge for shafts that were released with the Anser". So basically the stock shafts like any other OEM. Any shafts added to the custom matrix after release are extra. ie. DG Tour Issue, PXi, and Modus3's. This feels a bit disingenuous to me considering Modus3's have been an option for quite some time. I know, I've had them in my S56's which predate the Anser release.

Seriously PING for $1500 throw us a bone on this one and be a bit more transparent about what is included in that pricing.

I don't understand this. I bought the 2010 Ansers with Modus through DD's for zero upcharge and bought the 2012 with Modus in the UK for zero upcharge.

I'd get a retailer to look into it for you as mine was told categorically that only the PXi had an upcharge -  remember, that is the newest shaft to be released and maybe you are misinterpreting what they are saying, by them meaning you can have any shaft (inc Modus) that was released before the Anser (I think they will mean the original 2010 launch) and the only shaft that has come in since is Pxi and maybe C-taper

Modus 3 should not be an upcharge, at least as of last fall it was not.  PXi they've always said was an upcharge, I don't know about Tour Issues.  C-Tapers were a no upcharge option last fall.

I ordered a single 6 iron for my collection with C-Taper and there was no upcharge.

I spoke directly to PING consumer relations about the shaft upcharges and I was told Modus3 was extra. I'm going to call now to see if I can get someone else to give me a definitive answer.

Whomever I talked to at PING the other day gave me the wrong information. I was able to dig a little deeper and confirmed that indeed Modus 3's are a no upcharge option.

Either way, still a ridiculous price compared to other forged options.

I could care less what wedge says as long as I know it's wedge....

Too much money for these but they are nice I have hit them.......mizuno def better in feel and idk why they didn't use softer steel especially if your gonna price em at $1500....

W/O question you should get any shaft and grip you want for this price..... Pxi included, it's just another shaft....

$1200 with any shaft and grip is fair, oh yeah and 1025E steel.... Lol
