Thanks Greg!

Definitely looks good with that shaft!

Any firm details on how this compares to the I and G offerings? ie forgiveness, ball speed, spin rates?

Looks great but I just think there are better adjustable drivers out there.  Only a half degree of adjustability is disappointing to me.

Actual loft and effective loft are quite different in my experience fitting golf clubs.

I'm not sure why 1/2* is not enough. It will allow the 8.5* head to go from 8* to 9* and if you need more loft, you can go with the 9.5* head and have it go from 9* up to 10* and so on. The key is buying the right head to start with.

I like the low profile adapter. As far as the look at address, it looks like a matte G20. A G20 that I can easily swap shafts in...sounds good to me.

Here's a legit answer to why more adjustability with the loft is better.....because then the head will work with more shafts. Let's say the launch differenece between a BB and a WB is 2* degrees....well that means I can play with a  9* and a BB and have say 13* launch for example. Or I can have 11*'s of loft and play the WB, and still have 13*'s of launch.

IMO anyway. It should also make fitting easier. Theoritically. lol

Primarily because 1/2 degree either way is slightly more than their production variation.  Remember when you asked for a digital measured lowest loft 8.5 the best they could do was 8.4 and most often was around 8.7.  So all you have to know is what your nominal loft is to begin with.  Plus with only 1/2 degree adjustment and no weight changing the shaft options are limited..  I love the comment on actual loft and effective loft----Ping already played that game with the TISI  second model.  All it did was confuse everyone (by the way those had much more adjustability with the hosel than these do)....

I'm surprised nobody has commented on the weak looking tip adaptor, with all of the products they had to review over the past few years this is the best tip design they could develop? What's up with Pings rogue attitude towards ferrules? Not a fan at all...BB

I know this has nothing to do with the Driver but does any old timer like me think the Anser name should be reserved for putters only. I don't think Titleist will be introducing Newport irons any time soon or Taylor Made the RBZ putter....well can't be certain of TM.

Just a random thought..the thread can continue now.

I was actually referring to adjustable drivers and their actual loft versus effective loft when you change the setting on the club.  I would say, in my experience that 95% of the time if you took a 9 degree head and left it at 9 degrees that it would launch lower than a 10.5 head adjusted to 9 degrees.  Of course, depends on the player and how they react to the change.

I'd rather have the new 913 D3.  PING is always weak on shaft selection and can see this club not doing much for me in the tinkering dept.

I20 would be the PiNG driver I'd buy if I went to Ping.

Agree.

The biggest draw of adjustable heads for me has been the ability to interchange shafts quickly and easily. Yes, I have my 910 8.5 dialed down to 7.75, but only because the 7.5 was tough to get a hold of. If that's not an issue, there is no reason .5* of adjustability won't be enough. Having the option to try a different shaft(s) without having to completely reshaft the head is HUGE in my opinion.
