I have both an 002 and 004. The battery on the 002 recently went bad, and I tried to contact them to see if it was user replaceable. Like you, I got a busy signal when calling, and no response to either a direct email, or an email contact through their website. Unfortunately, I think they are out of business, at least as far as our products go. Hopefully, they will keep the website up so that I can continue to download courses.
As a side note, I bought a Garmin G5 to replace the 002, and am very satisfied.
