In the test lab, I soaked some Pro V1s in a STRONG solution of turmeric and water for several hours, then let them air dry. This morning, they ARE yellow!!. Field testing today....

Sounds great. Put you a black stripe on them and your all set to open a driving range.  ;)

WHere are the pics? What is this solution? I remember reading a post a little while back of people doing this to other white golf balls and it looked like it worked pretty well.

Some WRX'ers with kids must have extra egg dye laying around, as well as a couple old Pro-v's.  I would love to see how they turn out...  Might need to start a new thread, and WITH PICS!

OP here......still no decent pic. Picture a Pro V1.....then, in your mind, make it the color of a NXT Tour S Yellow, that's it.

For those curious about homemade dying. When dying lacrosse heads, we use Rit fabric dye. They make a lemon yellow dye.  If I try it, I'll definitely post pictures.

Duh! Okay, next time I'll watch the video first. Nice to know that it works, lol.

I bought some RIT dye this afternoon to try this. I followed the same directions in the video above and soaked them for 15min. I got some "so so" results. I am tinkering with some things now and going to let the soak overnight to see if I get better results on the second test. The first test worked, but was a "light" yellow...no where near the yellow you see from retail yellow balls. I'd be wasting time showing you a pic of the results from first test...but I'll throw a pic up from the second test tomorrow sometime if if comes out better and is worthwhile

I tried the turmeric and the results were great. I tried a ProV and  a SoLo and both look the same.
Perfect reproduction of a store bought yellow ball. Not too dark and not too light.
I did have problems with keeping the spice mixed as it wanted to seperate. My guess I could do
6 dozen balls with 1 bottle of McCormick spice.
Next test will be to see how the color holds up during play.
